The big tree is gone. Thanks to our crew of hard workers, we were able to cut this thing out without any power tools!

Thanks, everyone.

Seeing the struggles of third-world trails gives me better appreciation for the power tools that we take for granted at the more sophisticated trails.

20-inch chainsaw, 20 seconds. Brap!

I'm so surprised this was accomplished without any power tools :)

Did you use one of those old-timey 2 man saws? that thing was pretty big.

Two bow saws, one scary Shawn J saw, and three Pulaskis, one which bravely sacrificed itself to the cause.

It was big and really, really super hardwood in the non-rotting places. There was much rejoicing when we finally broke through.

It should be an interesting session. A bunch of shovel-leaners will be attempting to pin flag a couple upcoming trail segments while Tom (the only one of us who can really be called a trailworker) leads the rest of the crew in redesigning some trail in the south loop, fixing an ugly corner, rockin' out and more!

Hmm... that's not quite as big as the rocks we moved at Leb. But you'll soon work your way up to that, right?:p

Good job guys!

Well yeah, there is a boy scout camp where I can ride, and a decent river for paddling all close by to my facility down there, so it really isn't so bad. :)

However, it is very rare to get an evening free to come and do some trail work and pay my dues for the trails I use. My canoe racing clinics are now over, so I've got a small window until cross country starts up.

Thanks! I just rode on that today for the first time - well first trail ever. Is that where there is just a huge amount of bark to run over?
