I'm going to be at the inlaws this weekend (Thursday thru Sunday) and wonder if there are any mtb trails that are still open in the Mankato area? Where is Grandma's trail? Anyone want to get out and join me on a ride?

Thanks,

Dan

Hey Dan

i will be out of town, but either Chris or Luke may be in town. Grandmas Trail is in wells near Chris's place but were considering it closed for hunting season. mount kato is closed for riding, but open for skiing and boarding. other wise there is 7 Mile which is just north of mankato on 169, and just south of St. Peter. 7 mile is mostly double track, but there is some single track in there. if you stick to the double track, you can string together a solid hour plus of fast flowy ups and downs on pea gravel. the double track is fun if you can find it. sorry i wont be in town. but look up either chris (Trevize1138) or Luke (9Guy9) im not sure if they will be in town or not, but if so they could be down for a ride.

Thanks for the insight Tim. I might go try the 7 mile. How do I get there? Is there a trail head? I'd need some kind of directions since I'm not familiar with the area. Thanks again, have a good Turkey day!

yea you go north out of mankato on 169, the park will be a few miles north with and entrance on the left and side, pull in , youll see double track right away and ride.

If anyone wants to ride 7 mile tomorrow morning let me know. I am planning to be out there before noon.

I rode the cross bike there yesterday and the trails were great.

Luke, I'd be up for a tour of 7 mile. I could meet you there at 11:00.

sounds good.

I just got back from the doctor, due to a problem with one of my eyes. So I will be riding wearing my old and weak glasses.

Now I have a excuse for being slow:D

Tim I assume your at home. If not are you going to be there?

I figured you weren't around. I did something to really irritate my left eye, and it has been really sore, blood shoot, and running non stop. The doctor didn't know what it is and said to wear my glasses all weekend and see if it improves.

My glasses are about 10 years old and at least 4 prescriptions too weak, so I will take my excuse back:cool:

It doesn't sound like we are going to be riding today anyways. Dan thought I meant yesterday (fri) morning, and rode alone while I was at work.
