Last night on the Leb ride one of my Crank Brothers Candy broke. The spring snapped. I have been riding these pedals for three years, hard. I emailed CB this morning and thanked them for a great product. Just recieved an email from their Customer service group, they are going to warrenty the pedals. This is the second time, once before for a set of Mallets that spun a bearing. Kudos to a company that stands behind there product.

CB is pretty good when it comes to customer service. I had a customer that smashed an eggbeater on a rock, bent one side of the clip. I called them to find out the cost of a replacement body, but they said to just send it in and they'll cover it under warranty. Can't beat that.

+10 for CB's great CS.

-11 trillion for products that fail as commonly as their pedals. Oh yeah, they also ruin your shoes unless you rig them with a little plate. Brilliant.

Hijack - Time ATACs FTW every single time.

As you were.

Never had a problem with CBs. They are pure simplicity.

Forum fight time!

I agree, 2 sets of pedals bent in the past year (once riding Theo the other Leb) not even sure what happened, just could not clip in a realized both time the eggbeater was FUBAR'd.

+1 to CS if I had not gotten them from REI and just made an exchange.

Why are the pedals so good?

Lightest
Four-sided entry
Best mud-shedding

Lightest is the only real advantage I see. The four sided entry just gives you more sides to break and do you really have a problem clipping in to two sided pedals? Mud we don't get to much of that in MN, I think you are better off with some Times or XT/XTR pedals

+100 for Times!

I tried Crank Brothers and went back to Times right away. Times are easier to get into and out of and have more float because the bars on the pedals are wider.

Get a longer frame and a shorter stem.........it's the only way to go.

We don't ride mud around here, but we do ride snow. The eggs work great in the snow.

I have ridden Shimano (525s), Time (atacs) Bebops and finally the Egg beaters 3 sets and I am now on Candys. I love both of the EB and the Candys. I have never been a big fan of the Shimano or Time because I felt they were a little more cumbersome on entry and did not shed mud that well (cyclocross this is critical)..Crank Bros all the way..
