Are there any local bike shops that carry bash guards?
I don't think many carry them but should. :) The can order it for you though.

I made my own on CNC equiptment. I have thought about making a production run. I plan to take it back off and have it anodized next time my shop does a run of black hardcoated parts.

Thanks for the info,
I generally like to buy things from stores, something about being able to pick them up and check 'em out.
I was thinking of ordering a custom one with my website engraved on it (for the geek factor) but i just spent most of my "cycling allowance" on a set of Small Block 8's.
I'll check out http://www.bbgbashguard.com/ thanks Darren

What kind if crankset is it going on? It's not a big deal, but I just got a Truvativ bashguard to go on my Stylo SL Cranks and you can barely tell I'm using a bashguard and it looks great. Doesn't look too extreme at all.

Jeff,
Yours looks great. If you did a small production run, how much would you be looking for one?

Great link - http://www.bbgbashguard.com/ - super reasonable price. Cheaper than a Race Face or Salsa, used.

Just a note...I'd shy away from the BBG bashgaurds with tribal designs and stuff. The design leaves some of the material unsupported and easily bendable. I had multiple occasions where I bent my bashgaurd into my chain path and it left me standing on the side of the trail trying to beat it out with a rock. I really liked it otherwise, just the tribal design didn't work for me.

I just bought that table saw blade from webcyclery it looked too good to pass up, especially when on sale.

I was thinking around 35-40$ each if i do a run of around 20 of them, and they would be anodized at that price. funky colors would end up being spendy unless i did a whole batch of them. Plating shops charge by the batch so one part is not cost effective.

Salsa makes a variety. Some lightweight for the racer types and some a bit more heavy duty if the need to encounter big rocks occurs.

I have seen these on the wall at both Hollywood Cycles (http://www.hwoodcycles.com) and One On One (http://www.oneononebike.com).
I am not sure of their current stock, but some shops do stock these parts. Call around and see what they have.

So my bash guard came in. It's the circular saw blade pattern from web cyclery in this thread. Got so excited about how bad a$$ it looked that I ordered the wrong bolt pattern. Its a 94 5 bolt setup. It looks really cool without actually being dangerous, I still have it in the package, the tips are nicely rounded. I bought it for $32 total, anybody want to buy it for that?
