The problem is it won't take much to make the new trail really nasty. At this point I don't think a group ride would be a good thing...

Yeah, just sprinkling now, I think the heavier stuff hit earlier, but it is pretty dark still, at least last time I checked.

I heard about a group ride or something at this place called Buck Bump (or is it Buck Hill?), but it is a bit different cause there is a set start time, they make you pay a nominal fee, you have to sign a waiver and the fast folks don't stop and wait for you.

I've been there a few times in years past, but not yet this year. Provided I get my flat fixed (and get out of cube-land), I'm going to go check it out again tonight.

Thursday is my one day of the week I have open to mountain bike. I'd love to ride wherever I can.

I wish I had more info to give on Leb conditions. Sun is out now, but we all know how that turned out the last Thursday we told people it would be ok to ride. It was sunny all afternoon and the trail was still bad.

If there were a place to move it I'd suggest doing that. Otherwise maybe someone can get out and take a peek to make a more accurate call.

Probably the best plan. I'm out for tonight's ride anyway. I could still check it but most likely couldn't get there and report back until 5:00 or so.
The new section shouldn't be so packed yet that the water doesn't soak in but if it doesn't have time to soak deep enough, it could be a big mess. Too bad Tim and his crew did such an awesome reclaim job and there's no way to skip the tender new trail.

How did Savage fair for rain?

1/4" between 9 and 11am. I'd guess Murphy will probably be OK by 6:30, but...

...be fully prepared to cut it short and ride out to the road if it isn't ready.

There might be other trails to move it to that will be more certain about rideability. Look here (http://www.morcmtb.org/forums/showthread.php?t=21305&page=26) for updates on Murphy.

I noticed that the thread title has already changed, but for a group ride you may want to see if there is a trail with more solid conditions (both literally and figuratively).
