I'm baaaaack!

After a work imposed exile from MTB's last week I'm ready to ride.... Bee's, turkeys, & raccoons beware.

Props to Shawn for hosting the ride last week:banana::banana::banana:

At least for now the weather forecast is looking excellent. Meet at the Battle Creek Rec Center parking lot off of Winthrop. The schedule is the usual

5:15 Warm up lap for those that can make it early
(I'm going to let someone else lead this one. I'm tired of taking grief about the pace:p)
6:00 Main Event
(We'll work overtime to try not to loose anyone this time;))
8:45is Retire to the Green Mill Patio - Beer, food, and tails of woe

Hope to see you all there!

I won't be able to make the warmup, but will make the 6:00 main event.
Last week's group was easy to manage.

I will be a little late for the second lap. Post up the planned route, and I will catch up (with my crazy mad speed).

Bump...

Mighty quiet this week. Weather is supposed to be low 80's with 50%RH. Combine that with a little moisture in the soil and a couple of new reroutes to be tested it should be a perfect night of riding.:D

I'm out till next week. Although I will be unveiling the new bike that I bought tonight at that point. Sucks I have to leave out of town thursday, and can't ride the new bike.

Loose plan....

Loop all the trails on the East side of the park except for Fern Gully.
Cross BC Road and drop down Pallet Climb or Luge Run (depending on your naming conventions).
Back up Big Switch Backs then down Wall-of-Death.
To North Rim and North rim to Overlook Connector.
Up to the Overlook. Then the usual break.
Overlook to Big Switch Backs then back across BC Road. Down into Fern Gully. Finish with Big Gnarly or Big Sandy for those that want extra punishment:crazy2:

All routes subject to change without notice! I'll PM you my Cell Phone number. I sometimes hear it when its in my camel back.

I'll take you down from the overlook parking lot, including the "Residence" area. Hope you're like G.I. Joe, and have a kung fu grip.

Great ride tonight! I think we need to come up w/ an official name for the "headless statue" that was placed trailside tonight.

Yes indeed, great ride! Last night was near perfect weather. Discussions on Headless Goddess name options floated about at GM last night. We'll have to re-hash them in the new thread. :)

Twas a great ride last night. We had a great group out there and the pace was great for me. I suppose we need to sacrifice a turkey to the goddess, anyone have a big deep fryer I will bring the potatoes :)

Yeah.. awesome ride last night and good company at the GM afterwards.

We logged some miles last night. I think Corie had us at close to 15 for the night with over 1000 ft vertical. I know I was completely out of steam on the final trip up Pine Climb.

The bugs weren't even bad... although that might have been because we were moving almost all the time... or it could have been the "tingly" bug spay.;)

Thanks to all for coming out.

What was your route? My kickball league is finishing up so I look forward to getting out on some late summer Wednesday night rides.

I'm not sure I can answer that without a map and a lot of lines of text. Needless to say we did double back on ourselves in a couple of spots. There's only about 11~12mi of trail out there including the ski double track. I don't know if Corie logged the track last night. Maybe she could post the track log up if she has it.

It would be great to have you come out and join us some Wed. Bring the Camera. We need to some quality pictures from BC:D

Yeah, it was a great ride, perfect weather. And I didn't have any issues with bugs either - even without your tingly spray...

I had close to 11 mi for the main ride if I remember right. The only real doubling up there was on the out and back portions (ie overlook), and a couple places like 'Pallet bridge' where we went down and then later on back up it too.
