There will be a group ride out of Battle Creek Saturday August 9th at 1pm. Afterwards, we'll head over to my place for bbq and play time! You're all invited to join! Showers and/or pool will be available after ride.

Per Dirk's request we're going w/a Hawaiian theme so be prepared to get leid.

I'll be providing a meat of some sort and grilled potatoes. I plan on making margaritas, a Hawaiian beverage and misc alcohol will be available. (no beer)

Potluck style so bring your favorite summer time dish or meat to grill but not necessary. We ALWAYS have too much food so no worries if you don’t get around to it. It would be helpful if you could post up what you plan on bringing. thanks!

<O:pI just purchased bumper boats for the pool, swim board surfer set for yard and there’s a volley ball net for the pool. Feel free to bring any other outdoor games. Don’t forget your suit!

Joe, Renee and the pups will have the bonfire going strong during the evening hours. ;)

<O:pThere is plenty of room for peeps to crash so feel free! If you can, give me a heads up if you plan on staying the night so i'm prepared for breakfast.

The party will get started after the ride. I plan to be back by 3. We’ll be going all night so stop by anytime!

<O:pPM me for directions or pick them up from me at ride.

See you crazy kidz soon:banana:

Can we setup a Tiki bar by the pool so we can drive up in the bumper cars. Last I heard you can't get a DUI while in the pool.

I'd like to ride too...I used to live at I-94 and Hwy 280 and rode BC a ton back in the day. I haven't been there for a couple years now.

The only problem is; I've been invited to ride a friend's course that day (mostly raised wooden track with easy to moderate stunts). I'd like to take some people along but, it's not my course. I suppose I could head up there after the BC ride, but I'd also like to watch you folks get hammered!!!

So anyways, is everyone meeting at the school or the lower lot?

krazykatie
08-03-2008, 10:27 PM
If you haven't rode BC this is a perfect opportunity to come check it out! Also, the single track isnt marked well so you almost need a guide the first time around. BC is one of my favorite places to ride because its very different from all the others. A few good climbs and challenging descends.
We'll be meeting at the community center off of Upper Afton and Winthrop Street.

PLEASE be ready to ride at 1pm sharp:D (Dirk!):p

and i'll have directions to my place at the ride. if you're unable to make it to the ride and need directions, PM me!

A walk in the park - for now. We're actually adding a little elevation. :D And Travis is threatening to put all the rocks in his head, onto the trail. Things could get interesting. . . ;)

Since i've had a bazillion people RSVP to this shindig. I started to get concerned about parking.

North Oaks is a private city so we need to be careful and respectful because when you park on the road its not public property; it the property of the homeowner.

PLEASE try to park in driveway if you plan on staying the night...pack um in.

The next option is along the left side of Gadwall lane(the neighbor just put in a garden ...please be cautious when parking and especailly leaving.

If gadwall ln is full. Please park at the tennis courts!! NO PARKING is allowed Duck Pass Rd.

thanks!

I think most will come over right after ride. I may have to leave ride early cuz i have people coming over around 3.

I have 3 1/2 showers so people are welcome to clean up afterwards.

or everyone can line up, strip and i'll hose you all off which would be more efficient and earth friendly. I think.

Fabulous times, once again Katie!

And, all the convincing you ladies did, Lisa and I went out and rode Salem Hills on Sunday. Did one complete lap. she loved it! she said it is so much better than riding on paved trails, like the Willard Munger in Hinckley. And, something else I thought I would never hear, she liked going up hill better than downhill. She felt more in control. Her hands were a little stiff, from white knucklin the handgrips. I tried to tell her to hold on loosely, but she was a little apprehnsive around corners and stuff.
