Rapid Rise vs Rapid Fire

Due to my typical attention to detail, I replaced my old XT rear d with a rapid rise unit. I'm still using rapid fire derailleurs, and always was curious about rapid rise setups, so i'm excited to find out how this is going to work (and how many hills i botch due to mixed up shifts). I've switched between std/moto brake bikes pretty fluidly in the past, so there may be some hope.

Any fans of rapid rise out there? Is this just a recipe for disaster?
