View Full Version : Group Ride: Battle Creek 6/25 6:00pm
The usual weekly adventure. Weather looks good right now but might be the first really hot night we've had. There say'n mid '80's + humidity.
Warm-up lap leaves at 5:15 and returns before 6 to pick up the main ride.
Park in the BC Rec. Center Lot off of Winthorp.
Refreshments, food and stories and the Green Mill afterwords.
P.S. No hammer fest this week.:D
P.S.S. If it does turn into a hammer fest, no whining;)

I am starting to feel a little better. I will be out there for the ride.
I not even going to try to keep up, so if anyone wants to do a slower ride I am game.

The air is thick, like a good soup. I don't see the pace staying fast for a long period of time. I might actually ride with the Camelback tonight. Beer will taste especially good after the ride.

I'm in for 6:00
Fun time last night. Nice mix up on the route Tom, especially the extra punishment of Big Sandy at the end. I know it was a speacial treat for DV on the skinnies. :D Sorry I bailed on Green Mill. Hope someone consumed a beverage for me.
Thanks everyone for coming out, its fun to see so many enjoying our little gem on the east side!
Thanks for the seatpin Doug, fits great!

Another great ride again guys. The re-route trail is fantastic and flows nice. Note to self, do not follow leader when big sandy is mentioned, find alternate path :). Hopefully i can make green mill next week.

Good ride, sand got the best of me, but I knew it would.

You did better than any of us would have on skinnys. Hell, I had a hard time with fatties (tires).
Wow... super ride last night. Thanks to everyone for coming out. It was a little on the warm side but not too bad.
Highlights of the night for me:
* Riding the dump section at the end of the cul-de-sac while holding my breath because of the dead raccoon.
* Going out WAY to hard on the warm up loop and then paying the price the rest of the evening.
* Watching Vold throw a skinny tired cross bike around the BC trails.
* Watching Shawn throw klickers off of every little bump on the trail.
* Having Susannah come out and ride with us BC regulars.
* Watching Nick nail the new log ride 1st try.
* Watching the sun set from the GM patio with a cold frosty.:beerme:
Hope we can do it all again next week. Only regret is not getting a picture of Ann's shin bleeding over the top of her "Bio Hazard" socks. (Ann, I hope your shin and your knee are feeling better today)

Thanks BC regulars for the trip on the east side. I'll have to make more group rides to get a better idea of where things are and what is called what. Great job on the work you guys have done out there.

I've been riding there for two years and I still don't know the names of stuff. Except for Big Sandy.....evil evil Big Sandy.

Think of the Big Sandy as a giant water slide with a giant pool at the bottom to catch you. I find that it is more fun descending than ascending.

Yup... but the added pain at the end of the ride make the beer taste that much better.

Niiice! Did that occur in the rock garden?
Look how that blood was streaming towards her calf and the back of her leg, proof of how fast she was riding! :D
