Make a date with the dirt!!!
Thursday, June 26th
Lebanon Hills
6:30
***Feel free to bring an adult beverage for the *COL in the lot after & then off to **OC after! Yep, that's how we roll.
*COL = Circle of Love - gathering in parking lot after the ride where you will see many sweaty mountain bikers partaking in adult beverages (usually some sort of New Belgium brew -yeah - apparently mtb'ers are beer snobs!) or Gatorade (if your Pinkshirt).
**OC - Old Chicago (http://www.oldchicago.com/DisplayLocationOC.php?FKLocationID=10018) - it's our Post-Post-Ride where we go partake in their happy hour specials & MORE adult beverages!
It's been great to see so many new faces on these infamous Thursday night rides!!! If your seeing these posts week after week & haven't come out yet... well, I don't know what you're waiting for! You're missin' out!
Ride Time Info:
For those new to this particular Thursday night group ride... people usually show anywhere from 6-6:30 - the fast guys usually leave more towards 6 and the rest usually leave around 6:30ish. The best thing to do if you plan on attending is to post up! - we all try to be mindful of who posted so nobody gets left in the lot!
OK... me thinks I've covered all the bases...
In. I will see if I can get the puppy to show up.

Is the puppy going to go on the trail also? Or get to sit in the car during the ride?
I am hoping to make it. And, since it is 6-6:30, I will try to be there before 6:28 this week and have to ride like heck to catch up.

OK - what's up with Bootsie starting posts for the Thursday Leb rides?
I guess when you post on a Monday for a Thursday ride, you get to start it. Before too long to be the Thursday ride poster, you will have to post that Thursday/Friday night a week before when you get home.
I actually can not make this ride, as much as I would like too (even with Bootsie starting it) - hope you all get good weather for the ride..

Also it's going to be Mr. Buck's (Dakota Buck) last ride for awhile as well since he is supposed to be moving to Bean town July 2nd so a semi going away party as well?
No sliders for this kid

The third W is for weck. Short for kummelweck... a type of bun/roll.
At some point "Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck" dropped the third W in the name.

For those interested in bunny hopping bunny rabbits...
Last night after Leb trail work, we saw a guy walk in the woods with a live trap, and release a baby rabbit. The little bunny ran out of the woods and across the parking lot before the guy even put his cage into the back of his suburban.

April, get your rack all fixed up? Cause that would be great fun!
One of the bolts inside the rack got sheared in half from the force of the impact, soooo, nope, it's broken for now - unsafe to put a bike up there...bad news is, it looks like the part might not be available from Yakima, but I'm gonna call tomorrow and see if I can get it somehow. This is what I get for buying a high end fork mount instead of just a cheap-a$$ one. Been really happy with this entire system though...I'd go Yakima again in a heartbeat -- keepin' it USA, yo!
Will you be able to get there on your own? Looks like I'm gonna be in Burnsville tomorrow afternoon at 3:00, so rather than drive all the way back to North Mpls, I'm just gonna bring the bike with me and change in the parking lot or somethin'.

That's what you get for buying cheap USA stuff made in China! ;) Thule all the way for me! Spare parts: http://www.thuleracks.com/product_spare.asp
What exactly are you looking for? Watch craigslist, lots of yak stuff there usually.

Shut up. ;) I'm not getting into the Thule vs. Yakima debate. I looked at both VERY deeply and after about 4 months of debate decided the Yakima system and way of life was more my style. The whole pretentious "Tool-ee" pronunciation was not a factor in any way...nope, not at all. :eyeroll:
Still, Yakima has a great spare parts section on their site, too, just not the droid I'm looking for. I have an email into their support though, so we'll see...
back on topic...can't wait for Leb tomorrow!

1) Bootsie, frisbee is like one of my favorite things in the ENtire world, so I'll play with you
2) Yakima update: they are sending me the piece that I need for my rack. YAY! Totally free which rocks, AND they're sending me two, in case I plow into the garage door again. Proactive! I like it.
3) Josh, thanks so much for offering to make my part. I'm still curious to see how it turns out, but don't spend time on it if you don't have it. I'm always amazed that people have machines that can make that stuff. So cool!!!
4) Can't say enough how much fun this organization continues to provide for me. All the new folks just in the past few weeks -- it's so great to see!
5) To the person looking for me to say hello 'cause I said I'd be nice to you...sorry I missed you! I'm not sure which person you were 'cause I had a couple of people email me this week saying they'd probably try to make it to Leb on Thursday. I'm sure everyone was nice to you though. We have a good group of people. Next week!
6) I'm full-time employed once again. Thanks for all the words of encouragement from everyone during this whole jobless period. It meant a lot to me.
Ride on, you crazy diamonds!
