I'm not sure if that is the "correct" weight? Was that before or after the 0.04 lbs taken off for the seat clamp??;)

I believe that was after the umbilical cord (aka seat clamp) was cut...

cut is not a good word to use, let's say removed for later use...

Ummm whatever is more cost effective....I've used both love my XT crank from 10 years ago, not so impressed in recent years (10 year old XT crank, one replacement middle ring abused like hell! about three years ago had XTR crank, rolled over log=break teeth on big ring?!? Nothing I have not done with the old crank, very disappointing:nono:).

SUNTOUR!!!!
XC Pro, baby!!! One On One has some top-mount thumbies (you don't need more than 7 cogs anyway), canti brakes are regularly found on Ebay (gorgeous, honestly, although a roller-cam would be tiiiiiiight!), i dunnoa bout derailleurs and other bits. It'll be expensive and a PITA but oooooh so worth it to satisfy the retrogrouches amoung us!
Sunrace for the win!!!!!!!!!!

have you ever actually ridden a roller cam brake? I've owned an '87 Bridgestone MB2 since new; it came with a roller cam rear brake. Easily the crappiest brake I've owned in terms of set up and reliabilty. Works OK if you can manage to get it right though. Sorry for the hijack.

I know... it does look a bit odd, but I like that tire combo (WTB Mutano Raptor (fr) & Panaracer Fire XC Pro (r))... ummmmm... plus, I built it for mt biking not as eye candy... ;)

Cuz that's how I roll! That seatpost/seat were just on there for building purposes when using the bike stand. Didn't want to ding up the new carbon seatpost.

Leb! I didn't do the XX yet, but the big log pile on the X was so much more fun to ride over with my new rock shox sid. I definitely noticed a difference in climbing due to the weight of the bike & also, the ability to lockout for climbs is nice (now I just have to become more efficient at reaching done & turning it).

I've seen blue wall Fire XCs which IMHO would really tie the bike together, at least until some chinaman pisses on it. ;)
