We are shooting a wedding up in Houghton so I'm contemplating trying to take an extra day off work and get some riding in.

I was going to go up there for the Ore to Shore, but I'd almost rather skip that just to ride some of the other trails. I'd be interested in going with a group if it comes to that.

Ah, where I learned to love hitting the dirt on two wheels *sigh*
Did you ever get a chance to ride out at harlow lake and hit Jedi trail, top of the world, etc.?

I'd be game for a trip out there around mid-August or so (done with finals Aug 7th)! You know I've been dying to hit some DH trails too! Keep me posted if you decide anything, Kaite!

No, Harlow Lake is in the opposite direction from the City towards Big Bay. No offense to the the DH stuff but there are a lot of great xc trails (that would be considered technical here) lumped into the "South" (http://www.noquetrails.org/pages/thetrails/maps/ntn_bike_trails_small.pdf) trails, across from the Benson grade (Flow, Your Mom, Your Sister, The Huckstables) side.
Harlow Lake area:

That's a possibility but tight w/school at that time. Last year was full of good times! I'll see what i can come up with. How long of a drive was it again?
Anyone else going?

Scott, When will you be here for the wedding?? If you care to be guided around just give us some heads up and we might be able to do that. Some of the trails in the Hancock, Ho town area are well marked, while others are so-so. We have about three days worth of riding if you care.<O:p
Hope we see ya. PS you've got to cool photos posted on your web site!

I would be intersted in riding the Marquette trails also. I have been wanting to get up there but haven't had a chance yet. Now that I am done with school I should be able to make this work. What weekend is everyone thinking? I could possibly add to the group (save on gas, lodging etc.). Sounds like a good time.
