Anyone know what would cause a crank to squeak constantly? It doesn't happen every revolution or every other, or at a certain point. It's like a constant creak whenever force is applied.

Post up if you know what I should do to restore quiet to my crank.

Thanks in advance.

It's probably time to rebuild your bottom bracket.

DanoI've had this problem with my supercal since day one. I replaced the bontrager bracket and tried two different race face bottom brackets and it still does it. I just ignore it now.

Does it happen when you are sitting and standing?

Remove the BB, clean and a) heavily grease all threads in BB shell, b) wrap plumbers tape on the BB threads, c) grease the BB (you can't overlube, reinstall with proper torque.

Also, check your chainring bolts to make sure they're all tight.

If you still have a creak, give me the bike and go get a new one.

This^....have you made sure it isn't your seatpost?

I've seen this before and it sometimes can be the seatpost. We had a bike come in for this the other day at my shop and found that just applying a little more lube fixed the creaking/squeaking. If it doesn't happen every revolution it could likely be the seatpost.
