Anyone know if this is a very involved process?

It's such a low end fork, I don't want to leave it at a bike shop for a couple days or even have it sent to rockshox for some reason and pay for it all on top of that.

If it's easy to do myself I would like to put a more firm spring in it but if it requires special tools and/or steps, I can live with it.

All it really involves is removing a top cap, i think you need a 24mm socket for that, pulling out the old spring and putting the new one in. Be sure to put some buzzy's on the spring before you install or you will get some noises.

That sounds easy enough. What is Buzzy's? Is that like a lube or grease or something of that nature?

Nevermind I figured it out...
