Just got back from a short trip to new mexico. Dale Ball trail in Santa Fe is a challenging technical ride with lots of rocky singletrack, aggressive switchbacks and great views. It's also convenient to get to from the downtown historic plaza area. The trail head is only 2 miles straight out of town, however it's a steady climb (at altitude) for those two miles.......
We rented a couple full suspension bikes from Mike at Mello Vello and couldn't have been happier with the set-up and service. If you're ever in the area or passing thru, it's definitely worth a detour.
