View Full Version : Video of New line!
Caught up with Rich and Joel out at Hillside in Elk River over the weekend. They were lucky enough that a local landscaper and mountain biker brought a skid steer and mini excavator to build out a line that Joel spotted over the winter. Tony, Porter, and Eddie were also out there tossin' dirt! Here’s a quick video of Tony ridin’ the line! thanks guys! Super stoked on what's goin' on up there!

That looks like alot of fun, too bad I can't ride like that (yet). If the City of Elk River wants me to visit that trail, I will comply. Thanks, for posting!

Looks really cool. Better kick up my game a bit if I'm gonna learn to do that.
It's great that you have such progressive support from the city!

Everything has a B-line. The big step-down has a rollable line on the right side, and the bigger double at the end will have a ladder bridge across the top of it so you'll be able roll it, jump two feet, jump eight feet, or clear the whole thing at 18 feet. You'll be able to land anywhere along the bridge. We'll have it done before the weekend hopefully. The two biggest features are closed until they're finished.
More to come...

Big ups to everyone involved in this project.
I wish I was closer and able to help out.
Looking forward to interning this summer in the metro and riding Hillside as often as I can.

Is this part of the trail then? Or is this sepereate from the normal trail?

Damn cool! Great job guys! It's pioneering projects like this that could open the door to further projects like this elsewhere in MN. Elk River is being very progressive letting trail like this be built. It's very impressive to see what you are accomplishing in ER. I can't wait to see it!

The line shown in the video is an alternate EXPERT route from the main trail. We will always keep the skill level for the main loop fairly consistent, like it is now. We do not plan to 'plant' advanced features on an intermediate trail. They will always be an outside option. We have many more of these advanced offshoots planned. We want to give you a metro trail that has something no other trail in the metro has. Expect more.

Sounds great! The drive from isanti to LEB gets a little old just to hit a couple bumps . This will make decent trail riding much more local for us northern riders. THANKS!

Just to clarify, we WILL be doing trailwork rain or shine. I would guess that if it rains, not too many people will show up though. No worries here.

This trail is kick ass. Took me two tries to navigate the teetter totter. And near the end of the trail, it claimed my rear derailleur.:banghead: But easily worth it. This is a great trail, after just one ride it has just become one of my favorites in the metro, and the US. The wooden embankment takes some getting used to, but clearly marked for those who don't have the guts to attempt it. Great work to everyone who has been working on the trail.

Was that you I saw in the parking lot right before dark? I was the guy with the weed whacker that just ran out of string. :D
Thanks for the props. Bummer about the derailer.:hit: You'll just have to go back and get revenge!

The trail is a lot of fun. I has a good flow to it. The wood berm is a cool feature! I liked all the little jumps on the trail and wouldn’t complain if there were more. I like how there is a choice to hit the little jump or go around it. Build more! The sand in some of the corners makes it a little sketchy at times but it is Elk River. Really liked all the man made obstacles. Didn’t find the expert jumps until after doing the loop so I was tired and didn’t hit them. Maybe I just need to grow some hair! They look fun! Thanks for all the hard work everyone has done on the trail. It sure gets busy there but if you build it they will come.
