I've got shimano disc brakes...the rear brake loosened up to the point where I'd have to fully pull the brake lever in to get any kind of stopping power on the rear wheel (and I use the front brake alot too...) I checked the manual and followed the directions to tighten up the cables, but now my rear brake sounds noisy like the brake shoe is worn out...(the bike and brakes are only a year old) should I have the LBS wrench them out, or do they have to "wear in" again? I looked and the shoe looks normal, but I wouldn't really know what to look for to see what's bad...the disc looks fine...how much would a brake job cost and is it time to get one?

thanks!

YOu can stop in at Erik's in Burnsville and talk to Matt or JJ. Estimates are free.

sound like you need to adjust your pads in closer. All it takes is a simple turning of a nob and maybe realine the caliper
