Nothing new on the trails. The way the weather is looking, it could very well be the end of April or early May until the metro trails are dry enough to open. Winter has been longer, colder and wetter than the past couple of years. We need a good warm dry week to move this along. Till then, stay tuned!

Leb is still full of ice and snow! Don't hold your breath on the opening.

Best guess, last of April at best. As most have said we're way off from the opening of trails. I was driving home yesterday and notice I still see snow everywhere. Its good not to even let a person's mind think about riding dirt until at least every spec of visible snow is gone... and then wait a few weeks.

<sigh>

Another 4-8 inches of snow coming to the Twin Cities Thursday night/Friday morning.

Next week is supposed to warm up, supposed to, and that could set up a good dry spell. But even with that....I say 3 or more weeks before trails are dry enough to ride. Unless we get super lucky, that is probably a good estimate.

I will ride trails next week anyway.....because I don't care!!

Because I will be in FRUITA!!!!!

me and my buddy made some sick xc trails last summer and they just recently dried up. they have little mud, and REALLY good traction. i wonder if leb is at all similar right now? Im so excited its going to be warm this week tho... no more of this snow crud.

I'd bet it's going to take a couple more weeks at least for Leb. I was out in the grass in the parks near my house and it is very soft. Leb is in the woods and probably is way wetter. I wouldn't be surprised if there is still frost in the ground. Like Dan said, we'll give the word when it's ready. We all want to ride as bad as you do.

We really appreciate when people ask first! So thanks for checking in!

Drove by yesterday. It looked like there was quite a bit a snow in the parking lot. Would guess this goes double for the trail.

yea. I was totally bummed road biking down galaxie which runs on the other side of the park. I could see snow/ice still on the trail.:mad:

We had some periods of heavy rain and lots of lightning in the Lebanon area Monday night.
I didn't look in the rain bucket this morning to know the actual amount but it certainly did not help those of us who want to ride dirt soon.

Yup, we were getting close.... very close. Last night set us back again, and it looks like more rain on the way. :mad: Probably lucky to open this week.

I measured 1/2" near Leb and with the soil loose from the thaw, much of it soaks in to become mud.

May be time to seek other nearby opportunities. ;)
