Yessirree. The LCR girls put 147 miles of riding down at Hillside today. We swapped 'trail cutter' position frequently on the first lap, and after that the trail was nearly as good as it has ever been in the winter. We were able to stand up and crank up the climbs, leaning forward on the second and third laps! Some of the best riding all winter. Fresh snow falling. Five or six inches of fresh pow to roll around in. Epic day. The main groove is so buffed in right now it's crazy. Perfectly packed. If you have a Pugsley and you want to ride some singletrack, the only place to do it right now is Hillside. Everyone else is closed, so 'man-up' and keep riding the singletrack. You don't have to quit yet...

I took my pug around Big Willow today. Untracked the whole way trails through the woods. Wahoo. Not anything like hillside but great for old Grey Squirrel and close to home. :jumpy:

Big Willow! Oh man, I biked there so many times when I was younger it's unbelievable.
That section north of the railroad tracks and west of the marsh was cut mainly by my friends and I back in the day. It doesn't exactly follow IMBA trail building guidelines, that's for sure, and it was mainly created as a bike tag "arena". Anyways... didn't mean to attempt a threadjack ;)

Feel welcome to ride at Hillside as long as the ground is frozen. Usually the mornings are best for this now that the temps will be climbing into the 40's during the day from here on out. If you start seeing the trail soften up while you're riding it, try to make your way out and wait for the ground to solidify some more overnight again.
Thanks and have good ride!

The Red Squirrel was telling us how many miles per week you ride. Impressive! You probably get more miles in a week, than I get in an average month! Keep 'em spinnin'...

More pics. Not high quality. They were taken with my phone.
This is how a Pugsley was meant to look. The Black Mamba was happy.

Not all in yet... The current President is circling yet,,, She might be out like elliot spitzer... Goat circling too, she was hiding til she heard who was getting in the ring, she does the money order trick, claims they never send back money orders...
RZ, you'll dig the presidential escort back to Hayward... Hopefully the wind is out of the south again... More pain.
