Personally I hate 22/32/44 chain rings, I wish I could get 28/38 that actually had shift ramps. I can't say I ever really need a 44T ring but a 32T is just to wound out for me. Alas I see that the M771 cranks come with 26/36 rings so I am going to try those. Hopefully that will be enough.

Race Face has quite a few sizes of their race rings, including 26 and 36, no 38 though.
With a 36f and 11r you only lose the two tallest gears of the 44t.
Truvativ also makes many of their cranksets in 24/36/bash:)

26t/36t - http://www.middleburn.co.uk/chainrings_mtb.php - good shyte - Alex Nutt of www.mtbtandems.com (http://www.mtbtandems.com) is the sole US distributor (and great guy)
38t - http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=16041
28t - http://www.bikepro.com.au/index.php?module=Website&action=ProductDetails&content=468

I run a non-ramped middle ring on my 29er (29t or 30t) to get "26er" gearing. I don't have any issues with shifting...you just need to be a little more deliberate and avoid shifts under load.

Also, since you are now the unabashed King O' Bling why not get Boone Ti to make you a 28/38 combo?

What do you mean "now",.....I always was the king of bling.

I like my shift ramps, and have 38t 36t 34t rings.

Now I am going to get the E-13 35t and 37t rings cause they wear better.

To heavy.

I had Boone parts when no one even knew who he was, back when he actually built them.

OUCH! Did you check with any "friendly" shop owners that may be able to save you some $ on those? Might not be much but could spare you MSRP via Blackspire direct.

$65.12 for one ring though,.......

I hear all the latest's bikes are going back to sq. taper for the weight savings.

Phil Wood Ti square taper BB ftmfw.

My next "new" cranks will be M'burn square tapers. UN73s run forever, are CHEAP, and provide better chainline options than ISIS or outboard bearing shyte.
