I'm slowly working on replacing the cheap grupo on my bike (k2 zed) for good parts. and I was wondering if cheap mechanical disc brakes (e.g. the $80 ones on nashbar) would be an improvement over my rim breaks (shimano v-brakes), or should I just stick to rim brakes till I can afford real disks?
