Our own Tiffany Wolf is in the Star Tribune today in a story about the dwindling moose population in MN. Here's a link to the pic and full story. It's pretty interesting...and sad, too. :(

Tiffany! you rock! what a awesome thing to be a part of...super sad story tho and that moose looks so kissable...i could kiss him right on the nose. maybe next time you could give one a kiss for me? ok enough about my moose infatuation.

btw...it could be days, weeks, even years before tiffany even sees this post;)

Her job appears to be slightly more exciting than mine. I'd imagine moose, helicopters, tranquilizer guns, and the outdoors barely beats out the excitement of my office job! Nice work Tiffany!

Moose fecal samples, hmmmm.

I had no idea there was such a concern about Minnesota moose. Sounds like a real mystery. I hoipe they keep us posted as I've always hoped to see a moose.

I thought that moose was sooo pretty! They are just the most interesting animals, although I've heard they aren't too much fun if they start chasing you on a bike. Way to go Tiff!

Way cool, Tif!

Wolf, an associate veterinarian with the Minnesota Zoo, withdrew several tubes of blood. Keech, a research biologist, sliced out the barbed dart and yanked out an incisor. Wolf collected hair and fecal samples. Keech riveted an air tag through the moose's ear and screwed on a heavy leather collar equipped with a radio transmitter.

Kind of like an alien anal probe.

I would pay good money to see a moose ride a bike.

I bet they only ride single speed 29ers.

Ha!! This would have been true if you hadn't tipped me off. :eyeroll:

The trip was a super cool experience. And now that I have the moose bug, I'm hoping it won't be the last work I do with those moose.

Lots of cool stories to share on the trail too....

To the moose it totally got probed by aliens that came from the sky.

That moose almost looks like it is smiling during the whole event.

Wonder how their (moose) friends think of #294 now with his new collar, and earring? Jealous? Mad? Will they throw him out of the group?
