At least it's one bicycling brand buying another. Granted, Shimano is still a huge corporation, but I would suspect everything will still remain top of the line.
I hear shimano already has plans in place to come out with new model lines in 2008. It will be a fully integrated kit, where the PI bibs are only compatible with PI jerseys and PI socks.....:nono:
On a related note, I have never really considered PI top of the line for quite some time (since the previous sale).

I like PI... fits me well, and has a decent looking product line. I don't know about where on the "line" they are, but most everything PI I buy has functioned well and is very durable. (mostly cold weather gear) I hope they don't mess with it because I plan to continue being a PI customer.
Since I'm also a Shimano fan this doesn't seem like bad news.

I'll second that. I have liked every PI piece I have owned.

Hope they don't mess with the sizes. Pearl Izumi large feels like it was designed for me.

Especially the shoes. The Shimano last is too narrow for me but the PI is just right.
OK, OK the PI lobster gloves are top shelf. I will give them that. But their chamois leaves something to be desired.

Maybe it isn't the chamois as much as what is sitting on the chamois in your case.:D

I really like their tri shorts but care not for their bike shorts for this very reason.

Maybe it was a good move. Fishermen will start wearing PI now....:)
