Hello patrollers, I am wondering who would be interested in patrolling the Iron Man bike ride this year. I have the sign up forms and need to get them filled out and sent in by Feb 15th.

Here's the skinny.

Sunday April 27, 2008
Lakeville High School
30, 62 or 100 mile volunteers needed.

The info I need from you is your name, address, e-mail, phone #, and T-shirt size.

You must have up-to-date 1st Aid / CPR certifications and a certified member of the Natl Mountain Bike Patrol. E-mail me this info as soon as you can.

Thanks,

Dan Glassic

Dan,
Are there any plans to do patrol training anywhere in the area? I'm CPR/FA/AED but not part of national mountain bike patrol (though getting the other cert was for the reason of eventually joinging mtb patrol). I'd love to help out with events like this and others. Can you drop me any info on that? thanks!

Yes, we will more than likely put one training session on in March - April prior to the season starting. Keep an eye on this forum because I will post up the details once it draws closer.

For the first time in years, I will probably not be at the Ironman. I have been invited to give my "You Look Sick!: Rolling Patient Assessment of Marathon Runners" presentation for the EMS section of the annual IPMBA* conference in Indianapolis. It ends on Saturday evening, and I don't think I can get home in time to be at the Ironman on Sunday. :)

Should plans change, I will let the Grand Exalted Poo-Bah MTB Guy know, and my son-in-law and I will probably be on the 30 mile course yet again.

Come out and cheer mara on at the Loppet Sunday!

Be safe,

You bet, if you don't mind me B**ching about the headwind the last 8 miles of it. I usually ride with Tom Morrissey, if he catches up to me this year. But feel free to head out with me Eric (7 - 7:30ish) if you want, my pace will be the same as usual. :)
