We are building 2 8ft boxes to play on in the backyard. Going to pick up the top sheet and steel on tuesday. I will keep it updated as we finish up. There will be one more 8' as well, just havent picked up the lumber. We made 2 8' for ease of transport so 16' of play time

Specs 18"H X 20" W X 8'L

Stray from metal coping...it doesnt make snowboard's happy. My friend has a gash down to the core of the board form it. Bad news bears

Update Time. I got them wrapped up tonight, now they just need a good coat of paint and we will be riding them this weekend.

Hey I was thinking of making a box myself. I wanted to know how yours turned out? Does the steel edges knick up your board? If so does anybody have suggestions on what type of material to use for coping? Thanks
P.S. Where did you find the steel?

Steel is pretty much the standard for edges on boxes. As long as you don't case the front corners of the box as you are jumping on to it then your eges and core should be fine. If this is still a concern find a board that you can scuff up while you're getting comfortable.

Remember it is a good idea to detune your edges anyway if you are going to start riding rails and boxes. Who cares about what your snowboard looks like if you just caught an edge and ate your face on the box.

Yeah the steel is flush with the plastic sheet. It doesn't do ant real damage to the base unless you catch the fron corners. They have been working solid. I got the steel from discount steel in minneapolis. They seemed to be the best place i could find.

Thanks for your help. One other question is how did you secure the steel to the box.Thank in advance!

i predrilled holes and then used a bigger bit to countersink them. A drillpress makes this easier if you have access to one. I did the same with the plastic to prevent cracking.

That is some mint construction on your boxes! I winched into some pretty ghetto stuff in the past two weeks! Post up some action photos!

We got them setup Monday as the snow was perfect for that. We should be hitting them up later this week and all weekend. I will get some shots up for sure.
