So after we all seemed to have so much fun yesterday....I would like to do it again. Say saturay morning 10:30 ? whos in and who can help convince others. If you think you wanna come play, great. You dont need anyhting but a broomball stick and many people have extras. You dont need the shoes and all that jazz, just ask a couple who were there this weekend. It makes it more interesting.
So come on out to the first of hopefully many more weekly, MORC member brromball games...
Post up people, and again here are the details
Sat Dec 29th
Wilson Park ( 859 Cty Rd F W, Shoreview MN )

It's way too freaking far from Red Wing so I won't be there, but I would highly recommend dusting off those old hockey shinguards. Call me a wuss, but I actually like being able to move after doing something (says the guy that wiped out horrifically about 6 times trying to get back down from the ski trails on Memorial yesterday).

Yeah, bring it in the city. At least into the 494/694 loop. I would be more interested. Kids would have fun running around outside too. My son would probally out spin us all (legs on ice) . If Shad's there I may mistake his head for a broomball though, being all round and all. Accident of course.

Wow, Saturday morning and local. If there's a broom and I get permission, I ought to be able to make this one.

What kind of shoes does one wear for these matches?
Tennis shoes or light boots are just fine for pick-up games like this.
If you feel like spending money, here's what an actual broomball shoe looks like.

Forest Ice, D-Gel, and Acacia are a couple of brands available. They can be picked up at Play it Again, Dicks, Sports Authority and probably Hockey Giant. Cost is about 70 - 80 bucks. Not cheap, unless you're lucky enough to find a used pair at Play it again.

Play it again in Blaine had quite a few used pairs, Hockey giant DOES NOT sell broomball I looked, Sports Authority Maple Grove has the shoes in stock now
$70 Forest Ice
$65-75 Acacia
$70-80 D-Gel
HINT: The acacia are the D-gel design but cheaper....they are in a lawsuit becasue of the similiarities ....D-gel was pi$$ed off they basically used there design (Play it again has the most stock of brromball equipment that I have seen so far)

Brian are you coming???
I might. I've got a couple of sticks. You can borrow one. I played on an A league team for 5 years until I had my first back surgery. Then I quit. Running on ice isn't good for the back. If I can be a goalie I'll play. I got all of the gear.:etard:

So apparently this didn't happen because I was there and only one other person was. What happened to you Gus??? I was looking forward to playing. Well, have a great New Year's!

Yeah, what the heck? It was just me and Porter... a couple people stopped by, but I don't blame them for leaving with just the two of us there...

Sorry Don and Porter. That was Shad and I who stopped by. Let's try it again when there are more people behind whom I can hide my broomball incompetence :D
