A few of us are skiing on Sunday at 11am starting from the Lebanon Visitor center. Post up if you would like to join us. Should be an easy pace, so all abilities welcome.
Like Bob said in the other thread- this trail is for classic XC skiing. They also rent skis at the visitor center or at REI for 10-15$ depending on whether you are a member.

I'm gonna make this one - got done at the clinic around noon today, and was gonna go ski Leb at 1, but couldn't find anyone to go with, so I'm in for Sunday at 11. I'm finishing my baking and homework today, so I should be ready to go.
Nita? I hope I see you this weekend!

I was thinking after today it might be kind of nice to start out at either Jensen or Holland lake instead of the Shultz Lake visitor center...
Let me know what you think. I am not sure of everyones abilities, but I believe Jensen is a little bit of an easier stretch of trail.

I'm all for the easiest route possible. This'll be my first time on XC skis in a couple of years, and the last time was only one time out. Before that I hadn't cross-countried since high school. I did it a lot my senior year, but I will probably be pretty awful tomorrow.
I'm not sure where those other two places are, so if it's decided to start somewhere else, could you let me know just what street wherever we go is off of? Much appreciated.

I'm fine with wherever you want to start at - easy is good. I just need to swing by REI or the visitor center to rent some skis on the way.

Pete, I think they have decent equipment to rent at the visitor center. It'll save you some time if you are in a hurry.
I won't be there. Gonna attempt a lap on the bike tomorrow.

Lets just stick with the origional plan then- we can always try to ski over to the other lakes if we feel like it.
See you at the visitor center!

Well, it wasn't really "wheee" it was more like "uhhhhh", but it was fun. I am beginning to think I am genetically predisposed to always be the slow one in every sport I try. ;)
The skiing was awesome when there were tracks to glide along in...otherwise I was just sliding everywhere. As Jodi said, I felt like a little first grader on the bunny hill for the first time.
Thanks, Jodi, Matt and Pete, for a super morning/afternoon of skiing. It was really fun hangin' with all of you...and a great ski back with Jodi to the visitor center.
Saw Susannah as I was leaving, and then Tiffany (I think?), and Al and Nita
on the road...sorry I couldn't hang around and ski more...I was really getting cold, and needed food.
We'll have to do this again soon!

Great time Matt, Pete, and April. Sorry I had to cut out so soon- next time I promise I will stay the whole time. I would really like to make it over to Jensen lake.
Hope all the others had a great time skiing today, wish I could have been around, but I had afternoon plans.
April, it was great skiing back to the visitor center with you! Matt and Pete, hope the rest of the trial was fun.

What you don't know is that when you two left we enjoyed the cheeseburgers / fries I had in my Camelbak and took the moving sidewalks back to the Visitor Center. :)
For those that are wondering, the Leb Visitor Center has pretty good rental gear for $7 / hour or $15 / 3 hours.
