I'm looking for a pair of winter gloves. I've got my eye on the lobster gloves but would like some feedback on what everyone else is using. Just don't want to fork out the cash and find out I don't like them. The feedback is much appreciated.

I got the Pearl Izumi lobsters. They are almost too warm. Craft makes a lobster glove with removeable liner. I think that's what I'd go with if I had to do it again.

I have the PI Lobsters and they are/were warm. My complaint is that the insulation seemed to break down after one washing. They are nice, but I would expect better for the price you have to pay for them.

dogs – at least certain varieties of terrier – seem to find the velcro closures on the lobster mitts quite tasty. other than that, the gloves are plenty warm. haven't worn mine enough to run them through the wash, so i can't comment on that.

I have a pair of goretex Lobster shells from Outdoor Research that I love. They don't make them anymore. The only place I can find that makes them is Assos. I think I will try them. Lobster is definitely the way to go on bikes. Getting a shell gives you lots of flexibility, you can put as much or little liner as you like underneath. I use them by themselves when it's rainy and 50. I wear them over a fairly substantial winter glove at -10. Obviously if you plan on going to -10 you need to buy a shell that is big enough to put on over a good glove.
