2008 Jamis Kromo. SS no-frills bike, everything I need, nothing that I don't. Looks sweet. The Exile did a fine job this weekend, but the full-size mountain bike frame got a bit awkward to throw around and I felt rather clumsy on it. I also probably looked kind of ridiculous on it, but who cares :)

The price on the Jamis website is $775. I am not sure where to get them, although I know that Now Bikes and Fitness carries Jamis, you'd probably have to special order it at this point. I think this will be my Christmas present to myself :D
Revolution up in St Cloud carries Jamis...

Tooting my own horn here - sorry for the spam fellas.
I'll be carrying Jamis at my store. $775 is suggested retail. Street price will be closer to $700 I'm betting. One(or two) of these will be making it onto the first order.
I'm not open yet - but the blog is running www.theprairiepeddler.blogspot.com (http://www.theprairiepeddler.blogspot.com) - check it out for progress. I'll be opening spring or so.
And yes the Kromo is a flat out cool looking rig!

Awesome! Will you drop me a line and let me know when you get them in??? I'm for sure in the market for one in the near future, I need a new rig for next summer to handle the rough stuff.

Hey Marty - hows it goin'? Cool to see that you are opening your own shop! I grew up 30 minutes or so from Prairie du Chien in Elkader, IA .....we use to cross the river into sconni all the time to get beer when we were kids :D
Next time I'm down to see the folks next year, I'll stop by to see your place. Maybe you can show me some of the local trails.

That'd be great if you'n more folks swung down here. Got a riding friend that lives in Elkader now. I know that once I get this thing running, that'll be the end of my weekend trips for a while, so visitors will be more than welcome!

i just built up a NS suburban dj/street/park frame and am loving it. that jamis looks cool, not bad for an entry level dj rig. and yea if you can't wait, the guys at revolution in st. cloud are awesome.

It's got a suspension fork.

It's got a suspension fork.
Actually if you read about the fork, it's a lot different than most suspension forks. It's only 60mm of travel and very stiff. The idea is that it will allow you to pump without compression of the fork, but if you land hard...it will save your arms. Mostly it's a wrist saver.....not really a traditional suspension fork...:).

Remember the scott fork that used a cro-mo welded upper the fork reminded me of that.
60mm, funny how time changes things, I remember that being a long travel front end.

Yeah.....that was when forks leaked oil all over the canti brakes and you couldn't use your front brake!
