View Full Version : Car Rage
Biking home from work today I stopped at a 4 way. I made my turn and a car almost plowed into me. They didn't see me. Anyway they yell out the window so I pull up next to the car and tell them I was stopped and they didn't see me. The passenger decided to spit on me. Classy. :nono: Hell is too nice for losers like this.

Wow, spit on you....that is some serious scum bag behavior.
Even if nothing comes of it, might be worth reporting that to the police if you got the plate #.

What a foul, classless arsehat.
If you did get the plate, then you may have grounds to file an assault charge - http://www.metnews.com/articles/2007/lewe030807.htm

Spiting is considered assault by law!! You should have memorized their plate and turned the jerks in!

I unfortunately did not get the plate. It was getting dark and they took off too fast. I can only hope that the karma police take care of business on these low life, scum sucking, losers.

I would say we have to be more careful when approaching motorists. I tend to get myself in harms way when I get upset at people in cars, but it's not the smartest thing to do. I think it's okay to confront them, but just make sure you are not in a position to be attacked, run over, spit on, or anything else. I think I might have to enforce this onto myself......

Good idea shad.
Confrontation is usually a lose-lose situation. They don't want to listen, and they have at least one weapon (the car) at their disposal.
I sometimes pulled up next to someone and glance inside to see if there's an open bottle or if they are obviously drunk/high.
Anytime some drivers does something stupid on road, I memorize their plate. If it's really stupid and/or they do multiple things endangering themselves or others- I call 911 and report them. Usually it's about once a month or so. I figure it's all I really can safely do directly to affect the situation.

The lack of respect for bikers and sharing the road is getting (has been) outrageous. It would be nice if some commercials/ads were run to inform drivers (everyone for that matter) that they do indeed need to share the road, because the "share the road" bumper stickers are not enough. Sorry to hear about your incident.
