Safety on a bicycle is a two way street. I see many cyclists do stupid things too. Cyclists want to blame cars for crashes and injuries, but it's not always the cars fault.
There are a ton of ways to ride a bicycle. Many cyclists don't follow the laws and certainly don't make efforts to make sure they are seen. So I wonder how many cyclist and car incidents are the cyclists fault? It would be an interesting statistic.
Run red lights, bomb intersections while on the sidewalk, weave in and out of parked cars, don't use lights when riding at night, and many other things I see cyclists do a lot........and you are much more likely to get hit by a car.....or heck...another cyclist for that matter. That almost happened to me the other day, I almost hit another rider because he blew a light.
