I'm still trying to get my bearings while riding leb. i think I have it figured out - but one thing still confuses me: Is "Ted Man's Curve" the insainely rocky section at the begining of the expert loop (one of 2 entrances to the x loop)? that being said - it's not on the map yet?

Nope Tedman's Curve is the section in the X loop where you can either go to the left or the right. Both are rock gardens but the sign has a double diamond pointing to the left, there is also a sign when you get to the official Tedman's Curve... That is a bad explanation, but I am sure someone will explain it better.

You will know Tedman's Curve when you have to take a sharp right turn and step up a rock just as you exit the turn. It's also a slight uphill climb as you do this, making it a bit harder. Before and after the curve, there are a bunch of rocks to get over. So the whole section is pretty challenging.

It sounds like you are thinking of the right spot but are confused about where the X trail starts.

This is a reasonably accurate trail map: http://www.morcmtb.org/trailreviews/metro/lebnew_maps.html
TedMan's Curve is about halfway through the X section (the black line). It is the right hand turn that is just below the start of the XX (red).
The actual turn looks like this, but there are gnarly rocks before and after the turn.

There is a ride-around.
When you enter the X section from the big clearing, you go over a small log pile, then wind back and forth over a few individual logs and stuff. After a while, you go over a curved bridge that sits between two trees. Then you do a right/left switchback climb. TedMan's curve is just after that.
FYI, The end of the X section is the beginning of the XX (and the X-out). You enter the XX by crossing a large log pile and dropping into another rock garden.
Hope that makes sense.

(one of 2 entrances to the x loop)
There is only one X loop entrance, and one XX loop entrance. What is maybe confusing is that there are now expert "options" available inside existing trails.
Tedman's, for example, is somewhat like a XX feature within the X trail, just like the upper bypass rock ride is an X feature inside an intermediate trail. We started doing these a few years ago as a way of changing things up a little while still staying true to the general difficulty level.
When you get to the entrance of Tedman's there is actually a sign that says XX left, X right... but most don't see it because its a small carsonite sign.
