I'm very interested in how people are finding MORC, and where people are getting their first impression.
So, to make it easier to wrap my head around it, I thought a poll would go well with Scott's thread...
Where Did You First Hear About MORC?
You can vote for more than one option if it was a combination of things.
Even if you've posted in Scott's thread, please vote in the poll.
PLEASE continue to post comments in the original thread though:

I voted "other". Asking people at races (i would not consider this asking at trails, since I was not really there to "ride") who the original North Central old guys were. There was no shop presence, trail head signs, trail signs, shop guys that knew much, or much internet presence at the time.

Bump...
Wow, lots of internet searchers. Possibly not a representative sample though, skewed towards those who do bike stuff on the internet.

True. But in this day of age, enthusiasts are likely to search the internet on topics in which they participate.
I think it does show two things...
- The website is probably the most important (and the most easily controlled) means by which MORC makes a first impression on newcomers. Even when people first hear about MORC from friends, co-workers, or fellow riders on the trail, my guess is these people tell them to check out the website.
- There are areas we as an organization should work on to become more effective (a bigger presence in shops and at the trails), and areas where we have been effective and need to continue our efforts (talking to people on the trail, telling friends about MORC, etc.).

One last bump...
Sorry for all the bumps, but this poll got kicked off the front page pretty quickly.

Found out at an LBS when I moved into town...
...sorry to the big box LBSs, finding out about MORC has by far been the best thing I've ever been able to get out of them! It's usually just a bunch of attitude, but the fact that they had their act somewhat together enough to turn me on to MORC keeps me going there once in a while.
