Battle Creek Regional Park is located approximately 5 miles East of downtown St. Paul, off I-94.

Driving East on I-94, exit on McKnight Road and turn right (South).
Drive South to Upper Afton Road.
Turn right on Upper Afton Road and drive to Winthrop Street.
Turn left on Winthrop Street, and drive approximately one block.
Turn right, into the Battle Creek Community Center parking lot.
Find a place to park - you're at the trailhead!

I talked to Shawn and Travis last night. We're going out at about 1:00 on Saturday to do some last minute stuff before Katie's ride. I'm going to use the trimmer to cut a new arc into the 2nd of the chicanes just after the cul-de-sac, to try to get it to flow better. Then trim the weeds going into Tom's Fault and a B-line below the fault. Once that's done and were prep'ed for the opening ceremony we'll head up and work on further benching the connector until about 2:30 or so.

It would probably be a good idea for the trailworkers to meet by the pumphouse on old point douglas road... That's closest to where the work will be going on.

I plan to be there for the pre-ride work and the ride. Party's out of the question however.

Also, regarding the Wall o' Death, it may be best to leave comments on it to Tom, but it may be that we'll just leave the trees there and let that particular portion of trail go the way of all the earth...

I'm sorry guys...this is the price I pay for putting everything off for the past 3 weeks and riding every chance I got.

I know you're just teasing (I hope:confused:) but I do feel bad. I want to ride and hang witchu...it's gorgeous out. But I also don't want to look like a fool when I show up at the vet clinic next week and have to know this stuff.

I have to get everything done in class and the worse thing is that the teacher gets sidetracked. Sometimes have hw but I can get it done when we go over it in class. Hope you get your **** done:)

Great ridin Sat....I was so impressed with the new trail section; the little wall ride rocks! I'm looking forward to riding that section again soon. It was great to get so many people out there to experience BC for the 1st time and new trail. Party went well! Thanks to everyone who brought food, so delicious! The hot tub went to good use:p sorry i never made it in:banghead:

and i'm still all hyped up about that chicken! That was the BEST! thanks guys!

Last I heard, Dirk had about 1/2 the cash for hot tub. I dont believe he was keeping track of everyone who paid him...going by the honor system for everyone who committed to pitching in. Please let Dirk know if you still need to pay him. THANKS MUCH, Katie:D

I should find mine...it's in a box in my parent's crawl space. Although, I suspect it would be different wearing it now compared to when I was 10. The "hyper" spots would be completely different. Yipes.

Pete...you can borrow my hypercolor shirt for the next ride. Pretty sure it still has hands prints all over it from my sixth grade girlfriend. She couldn't keep her hands off me back in the 80's. Something about a guy wearing a mullet really makes them nuts...g*dd*mn I miss that mullet. huhuhuhuh :crazy2::jumpy:

Thanks for a great party, Katie. Sorry I was a lame-o and left so early (although it was 12:45, but still...) - the hot tub mellowed me out sooooo much (that was sooooo awesome)...and I wasn't getting much from the alcohol, either. My mom swears that it's in our blood not to be able to get drunk off tequila and after Saturday night, I believe her. I drank about 3/4 of my pitcher of margaritas (which had half a bottle of tequila in them) and felt nothing (not that getting drunk is the goal...but sometimes it's a nice escape). I was tired, and really wanted to snuggle into my bed.

I had a good time though -- sad I had to miss the ride, but sometimes ya gotta prioritize and wow, does it suck. :)

Dirk, I gave you $25 for the hot tub on my way out -- hope you didn't lose it in your towel or the fire. If you need more 'cause people didn't pony up, let me know - you shouldn't have to bear the brunt of the rental.
