I rode hartley this past weekend with jose (thank you again for the official tour) and was remembering the last time I was out there there was this great peice that ran through the pines that was an absolute blast when I was talking to jose afterwards he knew nothing of this trail. forwarding on a day I got a call from kurt the next day because the weather up there was terrible and we got on the same subject. i really missed this great section and it needs to be refound I know it is hidden under a ton of pine needles :banghead:. I am wonder if any locals other than kl remembers this section and possiblely how to enter it? This section must be restored because it was the best feature of this trail well besides the rock and all the other great features out there. Are there any suggestions as to how to find this.
By the way all the skinny crossing are a big plus and was a great addition.

by the way I look forward to many more ride up there real soon

Joel,
It's my pleasure to show you Hartley. For sure you'll (or everybody will) do likewise had it been a new trail user to Lebanon or any trails in the Twin Cities.
The area of with Pine Trees that you have described (or as you have remembered) still puzzles me.

Jose where the pines are is about a 1/4-1/2 mile of sweet twisting trail not a straight shot through it it got lost under all the pine needles. I know it is there so does Kurt he will tell you the same thing. If i recall my conversation with kurt correctly he said that he has some back issues and missed most of a season and the next year couldnt find this particular section.:banghead:

I guess, with all the trail runners and hikers who'd use Hartley, they must have changed the trails too. So that section is lost forever. Then, so it means that we are not really to blame if trails get whacked. We do try to fix them.
Where are the pics man:cryin:
