Any riders in the Mankato area? I began riding this summer after a extended break, which started about the time I moved to Mankato (little over 5 years ago). I have just been riding the 7 mile trails, but am planning on checking mt kato.

Lucas-
Definately check out The Mt. They are probably going to close the trails sometime soon to get ready for snowmaking so get out there soon.
Hit up the local shops and ask about group rides. You can try www.mankatobicycleclub.com (http://www.mankatobicycleclub.com) there hasn't been a mtb post since July but that doesn't mean that it isn't being read.
I get to town a couple times a month, we'll have to hook up.
Patrick.

Thanks for the info. I am planning to try and ride Mt Kato yet this year. I am getting my new bike next week and want to take it out there. I havn't been there yet because I don't want to go out there and pay the fee just to realize its no fun going up and down ski hills on a single speed.
I moved to Kato from Winona. And I grew up south of LaCrosse. I really miss the riding around there.
Let me know when your in town.

The Mt. is perfect for the SS, I've ridden my XXIX out there a couple times. I may be in Mankato next weekend. I'll email you if it happens.
Where did you get your bike from?

Mt Kato is not perfect for a FAT guy on a SS:D
I went out and rode there last weekend. I rode my new fancy FSR out there and have been riding it for the last couple weeks. Its hard to admit but I think I have just as much, if not more fun on my cheap SS.
I got the XXIX from a little shop just south of the Iowa border. I got the FSR from Nicolet South, which I highly recomend.
Let me know if your in town and don't mind riding with a slow fat guy.

We're not coming to Kato this weekend. I've got a friend from Salt Lake City coming to visit. We'll get together though.
