MONTICELLO — Wright County and Monticello officials will highlight Thursday a 1,200-acre site that they hope will become a regional park.
The property includes the Bertram Chain of Lakes and a YMCA day camp. County and city officials are asking for state funding to purchase the land from the YMCA.
The event will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, with tours from 3-3:30 p.m.
The site is at 9842 Briarwood Ave. NE, Monticello.

We used to have atv xc races there. Now we only have bike xc races there. Maybe we won't even have the bike races after this??

Howdy Kyia! Thanks for the heads up.

I have forwarded this information on to the other MORC Board Members and hopefully we can work on doing something to keep the trails if the sale goes through.

Kyia correct me if I'm wrong but at one point hadn't MMMC talked to the city of Monticello about the trails staying open if they purchased the land? How far did your talks go with the city and do you remember who at the city was heading this project up back then?
