I overheard some things at Trail work last night, and one of them was that Tom won't be able to make it, so Shawn is going to lead it, and will be setting up the note.

At this point, I don't know that I will be making it. I have someone scheduled to come look at a road bike that I have been trying sell. I will know more tomorrow, but for right now, I am not counting on riding at the normal time. I did however pick up a NiteRider TriNewt today, so I would love to get out for a night ride tomorrow. I do plan on making it to Leb on Thursday too. I will keep you posted.

Cool! Where did you get it? Can I ask what you paid for it? Do they have bulk rates if I get one too?

I'm up in the air for the Wednesday ride as well.

If I don't make it, I'm going to try and get to the Leb ride. Should know more tomorrow.

I bought it at Erik's today. I paid about $380.00 for it. That was after my 10% discount for being in the Erik's rider's club though. It listed for $399.00.

I don't know about the bulk rates though. I think they give me good karma for suspending my retirement, and buying bikes instead. Plus, they only had one at the Roseville store.

I am not sure that the trails will be dry enough to ride tomorrow. Although the wind is starting to whip up, and the rain seems to have stopped. So in saying that, there might be a chance. I would be more interested in riding after dark, but I need to figure out how to mount the light to my helmet. The bracket seems self explanatory, but the location and angle of the light will need some adjustments. I just caught my soon to be ex-cat chewing on the extension cord. Not happy right now.

My battery should be charged soon though, so I can test the cord out for damage. Anybody in the market for a cat?

Not one that likes chewing on extension cords, that's for sure.

Good luck figuring out your light placement.

Bummer about the cord Shawn. Hope it ends up fine.

You should be able to get it mounted and adjusted successfully. I was surprised at how much range that ball and socket setup had. I mounted mine fairly far back on the helmet. You want the bulk of the weight, right on the top of your head when you're in the riding position. Get it balanced so that it's not pushing your helmet foreward or backward as the terrain gets bumpy.

Paul- Also keep in mind the MORC Discount at many of the bike shops. Most are in the 10% ballpark. That's probably what Eriks did for Shawn.

The cord works fine. Thanks for the advice Troy!!!
Yeah, I either get the MORC discount or 10% or the Riders Club discount of 10%. Which ever one is greater. I got 500 lumens worth of revenge, by chasing the cat around with the light for about 5-minutes. Apparently cats don't like being in the spotlight.

Chasing the cat with the light. That sounds new. I thought cats like to chase light. One of our pugs attacks shadows or lights from a flashlight. Lots of easy entertainment there.

Good to hear the lights worked.

Now, i have to go figure out which 10% would be better, and how it could differ.

The sun is out. So hopefully things will start drying out. I really need to get some riding in. Haven't heard back from the dude that wanted to look at my road bike yet. I brought all of my gear to work, just in case he ends up being like all the other men I meet on Craigs List, and stops responding to my messages. :cryin:

The 10% discount is a horse apiece, for those of you keeping score at home.

Let's plan on riding tonight, but I am thinking around 6:00 PM. At worst, we could ride the double track. With the sun and wind kicking up, we may be pleasantly surprised with dry trails. The overlook will definitely be off limits.
I plan on riding to get acclimated to riding with a light.

Yeah, I will be there by 5:30 to check things out. I cancelled my bike showing. The guy was trying to lowball me, before even seeing the bike.

Shawno don't play that. Let's ride!!!!
