This is to replace Bill's Theo ride for this week since Theo is "Out of Order".
Meet at the Lyndale lot at 6:30 and we will head west first, check out the raft and keep going if it works out. If not, we will head back east and ride that side. This will be a mellow ride since mara is recovering from being sick.

Raft was working Saturday. The current was tough and the raft is listing so it was harder to pull up to the opposite shore than I've ever noticed before in the many years I've ridden there, but it works. I was able to get 3 people and bikes across at once.

Oh yeah, this will end up in the dark....so lights are needed!

I was planning on closer to home, so don't have bike or gear with me.
Also last weather forecast I saw had 80% chance of storms this evening, 60% of rain tonight, so thinking we will actually get rain.

I wont make it either, commuted today so I have to ride home and get car and load up which would make it too long and not able to make it....

I'd like to join up if the weather holds. I have only started from the Ferry Bridge lot so I will need to find the lot at Lyndale. Hope Mara is feeling better...I kinda miss her.

FYI.. the gravel road to the west of the Lyndale lot is still closed to foot/bike traffic. I called Bloomington Parks Maintenance ( 952.563.8760 ) to confirm. There should be a closure sign near the singletrack drop off at the bottom of the turn around loop.

Interesting? I didn't know the road was closed. Thanks for checking.
Okay, so looks like we will meet at the Bloomington Ferry Bridge at 6:30. The rain is looming, but so far so good. Looks like it breaks up as it gets closer....:)

If anyone is in the Ferry Bridge area closer to 5pm and can post up the weather that would be great.
After the most recent 1.25 hour drive to Leb last Thursday only to get rained out it would suck to make it out there only to turn back into traffic!

No worries....I work about 10 ft from there. Okay.....maybe a few more feet than that...but really close. So I will keep an eye on the weather and cancel if needed. 5 is a good time to make the decision. Radar is confusing to tell as usual.
Besides, your drive last week landed me a killer CD.

Thanks Shad.
Speaking of Shad, did I mention that I love the movie 40 year old virgin? It happens to be on right now. Dumb, but funny...you can't help what you like - hence the Shad mention - DOH!

It's almost 5 and I have to say....the radar is not looking good at all. Since I am about 90% sure it's not going to break up before it gets here....I am going to cancel the ride.
Also, the clouds near here at work are not looking so good. Hopefully we can do Theo next Monday....I miss Theo, I have not been able to ride there much at all this year.

Bummer for all of you ready to ride.. I unfortunately was not ready for it being down in the S. side.
Maybe you should take a gander at this thread then..

Sheesh!! The rain got here a lot faster than I thought it would. Time for a drenching. I am not going to get to ride until Saturday.....:cryin:

Rain has already stopped here so maybe I'll take the lights out on the road and test them out...just not the same.
