"Early before noon today" is obsolete. Getting up at 10:30 (long nite) kinda blew that out of the water. Think I'll skip over Mammoth today and jump in the ride at Murphy I had planned this afternoon. That means I will be riding Mammoth early Sunday, before noon, (If I get up). I have plans later in the afternoon Sunday at Murphy.

Hahahahahaha just take a Claritin D...same feeling. Going out to get some today.

11:00...That dead-end street off 41 is the best place to park, right by the entrance to the maze trail. Dammit can't remember the street name.

Lyman blvd is the dead end street. Most people start out further south off of Pioneer trail, just west of Mcknight school. It has a really nice paved lot now with restrooms.

I may be in for the group ride also.

I would agree with the pioneer start. Bathrooms, running water, shetler, and dedicated parking are good things.

I am planning to ride bewtween 9:30 and 10. It takes me right around 1 1/2 hrs., full out, to finish a loop at mammoth. I did not plan on riding this hard with a second ride planned at 1 at Murphy. Leaving at 11, unfortunatley, would require a full out ride to get to Murphy by 1.

Riding this fast on a group ride would probably end in being by myself anyways, which really negates the point of coming to a group ride. So, unless i oversleep, or plans get changed I probably will see you all on the way back coming in as you are starting out. Don't be riding the wrong way on the trail and run into me.....:D

Hope y'all have a good/safe/fun ride...

Trying to decide if I should ride Murphy by myself or Mammoth with you all. What time are you riding Saundra? Are you starting from the park behind the school?

OK, I got my friend Nancy to join us. The Pioneer lot since most including myself prefer close bathrooms. We're planning on being there at 11:00 - Saundra / Cam / anyone else if that works for you we'll see you then.

I was at Mammoth around 9a and we got a nice ride in before it got to be too hot. Mammoth is a great trail and I want to learn to find my way around there. So if anyone wants to go in the early part on Sunday 9/30 then I would love to go again. No Bobfest for me since I have school all day on Saturday......bummer.

I hit the trail at 9:30 and had a good fast ride. I think I heard your crew. You hardley ever hear anybody out there that early on a Sunday:), so it took me by surprise. I hit the trail almost every day of the week between 4 and 5. I ususally ride on the weekends before 10am. I won't be around for the next two weekends going to out of state rides, but if you want a slow tour of the place before then I have no problem showing you around during the week. If not the next weekend I am free is 14th.

Trail is much funnier when you can put the peices together.

Wondering if y'all had any incident with the bridge on the last part of the skull loop. Whe I hit it around 10ish there were two boards missing, and when i made it over there was three missing. I took the plank that i knocked off and moved over a smudge and pounded back in place with a rock. Rode over it a few times and seemed alright, but it kinda worries me. If it goes the gap would be easily big enough fo a tire to fall into.

Our crew? It was just two of us.. Granted I'm pretty damn loud though.

Actually it took us a bit - I had troubles shifting, was messing with it, then finally broke the chain. Shift was much better after that..

Note to those who have not been out there in a while:
The planks missing from the bridge in Skull Loop is getting pretty bad. Had I known I would of pack a couple of pieces and nails and tried to get something on there.
If one more get off of there, it's going to not be rideable (unless you bunny hop over it).
