Ride: Murphy Monday 9/17 5:30pm
I'd like to try to get in one more evening Murphy ride this year. But in order to get in a ride in the daylight, we'll have to make it 5:30pm. Plz post up if you think you will be there.

I'm 50/50 but will see if I can arrange things to make it.

I might have to make a stop home to pick the bike up. No late hours for me again.

Are we pushing it for 2 expert laps starting at 5:30?
Sunset is at.. what... 7:20. Official dusk is around 7:45 I think?
I suppose thats plenty of time, but my eyes are bad anywhere close to sunset. We'd need to keep the train moving.
That or evaluate where we are and maybe do multiple intermediate loops.

That was sort-of my thinking, although I am fine either way. Go-fast with two x loops, or a slower 1-loop social ride. Either way, I think the early start will be necessary.
Since we can't hang after dark, maybe we can hit OC or something afterward.
Hopefully, the rain will hold off.
THUMP!

I might make 5:30 for a normal, easy paced lap. I want to try out my new light so I might make a second lap at the beginner or intermediate stage after it gets dark as well.

Unfortunately we're not allowed to ride Murphy at night... so the light testing will have to wait. :embarass:

Maybe I will just hit Theo or Leb then...thanks John.

The park actually closes at sunset.

Thanks for the clarification!
Originally I was planning on doing BC trail work and then do a night lap but I forgot daughter number one has a Doctors appointment at 3:40 in St. Cloud so I'm out for any of the three options. Have fun everyone and someday I'm going to get out again! :banghead:

Dan, I'm hoping that someone (anyone?, Troy?, Dan? Tom? anyone?) posts up another Wednesday group ride this week at BC. If so, I'll be there. I still need a guide to get around that place. 5:30 last week worked well. (hint hint)
At this point, it's looking like I'm going to miss the Thursday night ride, so I'm trying to get in another one this week.

Good deal on the weather. I'm in. We'll have to think of a place to hold the circle after since the lot will be closed. Not sure about the area and whats available or good.

There is an OC near the NE corner of Cedar Ave (77) and County 42. There are also a handful of places near the Burnsville center.
I'm looking forward to trying out the Panaracer Rampages. Slower, but grippy. One lap at a moderate pace, then head somewhere for the COL.

Bob I can show you around BC. Just let me know when and we'll ride. And drag John out also, he needs a good beat down before Levis.

Thanks, Troy. Looks like Tom just posted up a group ride, so I'm good for this week.

I'm in! Don't forget, the extended loop is now open as of yesterday. :)

I'm hitting Wednesday's ride at BC as well. Chris is in town from Chicago and hasn't ridden Battle Creek in like ten years so he is coming too.

Great ride... the new section of trail was fun! OC in Apple Valley was cool, but not as good as the Eagan OC. ;)
The first group ride that I rode almost alone. (Actually that was kind of fun too.) Teaches me to get there 10 minutes late and not post up I'm coming. It was good interval training, and you can really hear people's voices around Mile Marker 62-64 from below. The new piece of trail that opened was fun, love that zingy bridge! And...there is a skull in the log pile. Cam said it was a cougar head. :)

Good ride, and good time at the OC. We really got the royal treatment, having an insider along.
Too bad about the screw-up, Nita. While we were hanging out at the X qualifier, Cam said that he saw you in the lot. So, we decided to let Saundra ride ahead while we did another Int loop to pick you and other stragglers up.
From what I can tell, there were two problems.
1: Saundra was supposed to tell you to ride with her while we caught up.
2: You were so damn fast that by the time we got back to the qualifier, you were already halfway through the expert loop.
Anyway, it was good that you held up at the log ride and were able join the rest of us for the remainder of the ride.
Good job on the new section, Murphy crew.

Now you're talking!
Isn't that how group rides are supposed to be? Hit the lot late and ride like mad to catch up. After a few of those, it doesn't matter who is setting the pace.

Someone mentioned there was a skull and I guess I joked it was a cougar one. :) I didn't see it myself... Where was it again Nita?

This is what I did! I was already running behind and came to a closed road... !@#%!$#^!! So I parked the Jeep and biked 1.5 miles to the trail :jumpy:

BTW: Pete & Company - the two new berms ROCKED! Nice going - that section stayed fun and is still something to look forward too. :D

I let her know that you were behind. She just biked off anyways.:)
Log pile?
Not a log pile to ride over, but a messy pile of downed trees.
I must have not heard you Saundra, because at the step-down bridge I didn't know I was supposed to wait for them. When I biked ahead it was in the prairie when I saw you again and asked how far back they were. The mosquitos weren't going to let anyone sit still for too long. :p
