Fall Trailwork Schedule for Murphy-Hanrehan: 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month.
We will meet this coming Sunday at 10am at the main trailhead (where you would park if you were riding the trail).
We'll supply the tools... but please wear long pants, good shoes or boots, and bring gloves, bug spray and water.
A powerbar or similar snack might be a good idea too.
If you are under 18 yrs old, bring a parent or guardian along.
Thanks... we hope to see you there!!

I'll be there & I think PPGC said he was going to come too.
Around the 66 marker on the hill the trail is starting to wash out. It might need a log along side of the trail to keep the earth from washing away.

I was gonna mention that too! I almost slid down the hill just before 66 on Monday. I didn't know if maybe it was just me...apparently not.
I can't make this trailwork session, but I should be able to do the first one in October.
Yeah, I will be there like MikeyB said, who is bringing the doughnuts?
I have to work Sunday AM but I'll be there in October.

Wow, I was just kidding about the doughnuts. I say if you are cool enough to bring doughnuts no one has the right to be picky. :)

I used to bring doughnuts to work every Friday to build some comradery between Eng and Production. It worked well. I have tried to do the same many time since I moved to MN and it has went bad. Nobody was happy. It was either "I want glazed, I want spinkles...ect"..and most of them did not even like doughnuts. I playfully (in my veiw) nicknamed the core group of doughnut assasins the "Doughnut Nazi's" (no they were not German or Jewish so no harm was meant or done). The nickname caught on...which ultimatley has drove Eng farther away from some of the production and had the whole fiasco has worked itself out much different then I attended.
There were many that were very health conscious...which makes it ironic that I am offering to bring the same tasty treat to people that are probably more healthy then the ones that declined. So I just figured most in MN were "Doughnut Nazi's". I will bring a dozen and have the doughnut lady just randomly put them in of every shape and size...y'all can sort out the details...I don't paticularly care for doughnuts.;)
That is my doughnut story...now back to your local Murphy Trail work program already in progress

Hey Pete, rode the new open trail after trailwork today. Actually rode it twice :) It reminded me when the full trail first opened this spring. Soft dirt takes a little more pedal effort. It rode well though, didn't see any obvious areas of concern. About 50yards or so before the bridge there is a option to go either right or left around a little tree, is it supposed to be this way or just to the left? I forgot to ask when we were out there today...

Great new trail. Some areas seem like they push you to the outside but it needs more riders to show the line taken.

I learned two good leasons today. #1: always check if you got your water before riding. I found out 1/2 through the trail I forgot my water. I was soooooo thirsty I skipped the new trail loop just to get back to the car to get a drink. Really great ride besides the slip up though. Did not have all the legs to push through super fast, but still pulled off a good click and more importantly a fun (dry) one.
What was leasson #2...oh yeah...never....ever...stand behind Saundra when she's a tossin'. She may be small in stature and quiet, but man let me tell ya she's got an NFL quality arm. If you ever are behind her while she is working, daydreaming like a lump on a log, (as I was today), you soon will be bombarded by flying dirt, roots, and branches flying at a rate that would make even the strongest tornado jealous. I only just escaped with my life....just kiding Saundra:). Next time I will be smart enough not to stand behind someone while there working.
Good times with a bigger then average crew...though I have to admit I am super jealous of MIke P. I think it is super cool that your wife came out. That is just plain awesome in my book.
Pete, y'all have to save me some of that Rock gardern your planning for the 1st weekend of Oct. Really wish I could make the date, but plans are already set in motion, so I won;t be "unofficially" able to work again until the third weekend...(wow I month from now). See y'all then.

Taking that bark off the log ride made it quite harder. Fell on by ass twice  But I did ride it a couple times.

I think to the left is the better line... but I'm guessing we'll put a bridge (or something) there at some point. We'll have to see how it rides in.

It'll keep getting harder... the bark traps water which speeds up the log's decomposition.
At some point we'll debark the whole thing, but for now we'll remove the loose stuff when we're out there.
Thanks again for coming out today!

Yeah, seems harder to ride now for me because all the weeds/brush are gone. It didn't seem as high before but now I know I'm up there.
Also, nice team name... team//MORBID http://www.tcstangs.com/forum/images/smilies/drink.gif
