Does this bike totally kick ass??? Yes. Do I take advantage of what its meant for??? No. I absolutely LOVE this bike, but I have found that single speed is where its at for me.
Here's the scoop. I bought this bike brand new from Erik's Bike Shop in Roseville at the beginning of the summer and have ridden probably somewhere between 500-700 miles total. Most of those have been on PAVED ROADS. Yes, sad but true. The most "intense" offroading this bike has seen is the "trails" at Minnehaha Falls. Never been to Leb, battle creek, or any other of the popular trails.
Bike is in very good shape. A couple very minor scratches, brakes squeak a bit and back rim is not 100% true. But, you should know that I always rate my stuff lower than most people would. Color scheme is the wicked black/red. Suspension is incredibly plush and the bike rides great. I have always washed it after getting it dirty. Bike is still under warranty, and I have the original receipt. I will include a rear shock pump with the bike. Looking to get around $1500, or may consider a partial trade for a Jamis Exile or Bianchi Lewis. Feel free to ask me any and all questions. Pics available for interested parties, but I think you all know what this bike looks like. Thanks!

This will have to do until I snap a picture of the actual bike. Hopefully within the hour, but looks exactly like this one:

I totally love the bike too, but have come to realize that I don't even come close to using it to its full potential. I get a lot of compliments on it when I'm out riding, even from roadies!!!

FYI, I am bringing the bike in to be fully tuned up, trued, etc. So the bike will be absolutely ready to go for the proud new owner.

Bike will be done with the full tune-up today, and I'll have it available for viewing/riding. Price reduced to $1400.
I have one of these and can tell you it is a great bike. Well worth the $1400 he is asking for it.

2 crappy pics before the battery in my camera died. Bike is smooth as silk now. This color scheme looks far better than anything offered on the 2008's (besides maybe the "ale" scheme).

Interested.
I am 6'4" 205#'s, will it fit me?
When does the warranty end, and what does it cover?
How much does it weigh?
Want to bring it to Murphy tomorrow around 4:30?:-) I may be demo-ing a giant full suspension. Your bike looks like a better equipted ride. I am currently on a hard tail, and haven't rode a fully suspended bike on a trail yet.

I am 5'11", 210 lbs and works great for me. There is 1.5 year left of free tuneups, don't recall when the warrantee ends on components. If I had to guess the weight, probably about 29 pounds. I work until 5, but can show it to you in Highland if you'd like. Its a lot of bike, especially for my asking price. Try it and you won't regret it.

So do they make a larger frame than large? Maybe I can Get to an Eriks and check a large out and see how it goes.
Highland? St Paul somewhere? I am in the south western most part of Hennepin County.

Last call before this goes to ebay, final price reduction to $1300 for people here. I am really hurting over here, and will only leave it at this price for the remainder of the weekend. This is well below what its worth.

So, what do you think I will be able to pick this bike up new at the sale tomorrow? I am a little afraid your bike will be too small for me, but it seems like a steal if it is as described. (not saying its not) Is it $1300 or $1400?
How much does it weigh?

You shouldn't have a problem getting 1700-1800 for this bike on Ebay. Do yourself a favor though and take a lot of good close-up photos of everything.
And Joe, never buy a bike that is to small just because it is a good deal. You'll be mad at yourself in the long run.

I'm 6'4" and rented a Large Stumpy this winter while in AZ. I could get enough leg extension, but the top tube was a bit too short. I felt like I was going to bang the bar into my knees when turning.

I know I can get a lot more for the bike on ebay, especially in its condition, but would prefer to sell it locally. The price is $1400, $1300 was a weekend-only thing. I highly doubt Erik's will discount these much, MAYBE $1800, but I'd be surprised by much less than that.
If I don't get at least someone to check it out for a test ride its going on ebay in the next day or so. Regarding weight, she probly weighs in around 30 pounds, but I don't know for sure.

Is a large pushing it for someone 5' 8"?

I would guess that you would probably need a medium, but can't say for certain, you could always stop out for a test ride and see how it feels. What's with all you oddball guys out there either being too big or too small for my bike :D
Is a large pushing it for someone 5' 8"?
I am about 6' and ride a medium but I like my frames on the smaller side.

I'm 5' 11" & ride a large (exact same bike listed). According to the Erik's (I dealt with a store manager), I'm right in the middle of the range for a large. 5' 8" - 5' 9", I'd be in a medium...

I'm in the 5'10" range also, but don't think I have the dough either. Been thinking way in the back of my head time to upgrade from the first mtn bike purchase of a 99 Rockhooper FSR.
