My wife last night just before bed:

"You are taking a shower before you get into bed, right? You've got dirt pants on!"

Dirt Pants: The layer of dirt and dust on your lower legs developed after off-road cycling.

They even ended at my ankles.

I thought you washed that off in the lot with hamms!

More like 'Dirt Leg Warmers' than 'Dirt Pants'

How funny, that is exactly what Bob said last night at Old Chicago. Actually I love my dirt pants, its the only time I look like I have a tan.

My wife is going to love this new term.
My standard practice after getting home from a ride is to hose off my legs in the backyard. That's required before I'm allowed in the shower, let alone the bed.

For me, the worst part is that I take a shower and soap/wash down twice, but still demolish the towel with dirt while drying off.

Have you tried, maybe, getting dark colored towels?:eyeroll:

They even ended at my ankles.

When left clean in comparison to the rest of the leg, the ankles are called "whitewalls". An old term from way back in the day when mud riding was OK.
