Does green=approve and blue=disapprove ?

I believe red is disapprove. Blue (or greyed out, not lit up) I think has something to do with the rep power a person has and if they have enough power themselves to actually have their points count when they give them out.

That would make more sense as occasionally I get the greyed out ones and always wondered if people were dissing me for the most random posts :)

What is the point of the points/reputation?

So, who gives reputation points, and what purpose do they serve?

Anyone can give or receive rep points. The more posts you have, the more rep points you have, the more time you have been on the forums (etc.) the more you can give.

Click on the little scale under someone's userid/avatar etc. to give out points.

They don't serve much real purpose but are considered nice to do when someone does something extra or posts something you really like or agree with etc.

Giving rep points is nice. Getting them is fun. You can see the latest few reps received under your User CP (user control panel)

How many people disapproving does it take to get a red cube below your name and avatar?
