If there's anyone out there besides me that is NOT going to Gnome Fest....... I'm throwing out the option of a super cool ride at Mammoth on Saturday morning (maybe 10:30ish). Let m know if anyone is interested.

The more the merrier!:crazy2::banana::jumpy::laugh:

If i don't DJ saturday night, I might be up for a ride.

Shawn, if we both go, we should ride together, Mammoth is nearly an hour from Woodbury:banghead:

I may be up for that. I've been wanting to ride Mammoth the whole year and it hasn't worked so far.

Get on the wagon and go to Gnome-fest!

Hell - it's only 3 hrs from TC, leave at 8 AM Sat. - be there in time for the big race or just explore!

Nannies?!?!?...... Sorry, but I can't watch LSU kick VT's a** in their first game of the season from a campfire 3 hours from TC.:crazy2::nono::metal:

I know where my priorities are.:)

I'll see the rest of you non-Gnomers at Mammoth at 10:30.

Oh, and Nicole, you can totally cut out early if you need to get to work, but I would imagine we would finish in plenty of time.

No Old Chi, but they got a Ruby Tuesday's and a bar that used to be call Cadillac Jack's - both are about 1/2 mi from the trail.

I have never been to this trail. Can someone please post up quick directions from Woodbury? I am guessing that I have to take 494 for a while, but after that?

I want to ride!!!

494 to 5 west through Chanhassen all the way out to 41. There's a big Lifetime Fitness at the corner.
Take 41 south (left) to (Pioneer Trail ? Target on SE corner of intersection).
Take right and go a few blocks west and just past Johnathan elementary school there are soccer fields and a park shelter.
Thats the place. You kind of go past it to the street that enters.

I'm planning on this ride as I've never been to Mammoth. Not sure how you all are able to get up at the crack of dawn like this on a Saturday though! :hammer:

I'll see if I can't wrangle up a couple more people to join.

Love to ride this event, but unfortunaletly Nebraska (GO BIG RED) plays Wake Forrest at 11 am on SAT. I can't hardley watch the Huskers (GO BIG RED) put a beating on the Deacons while I am in the middle of falling off the log of death.

I also must venture to where my priorities remain the most deeply rooted.

Hope Y'all have fun

Is that whining?!?!:eyeroll::hammer: I'm not sure its really called for since you have the least amount of driving to do than probably anybody, AND you're usually late anyway.:crazy::D

But I'm sooo looking forward to seeing out there!!!!:jumpy:

Man.... what a place! Great riding but jesus.... how the hell do you know where you are in there!? Next time I think I need to bring a sandwich and a tent just in case! I got there ~11:30 and rode in with a couple guys I saw in the parking lot. They were taking it "easy" while I was doing all I could to keep up, turns out they were racers... They knew where they were going so I just stayed with them instead of joining the MORC crew. I saw you guys out there a few times, looked like you were getting split up a little?
Anyone know where a map of this maze could be found? Great place!

Yup, great trails but its too bad they are connected that way (or disconnected that way is maybe a better way to put it).

Check your PM for some info...

What a great ride today - a really fun group and perfect weather. It was surely helpful having guides through Mammoth as I'm rather sure I wouldn't have even found the entrance. Of course, if that had happened, I could have enjoyed Mel's 60th birthday party at the adjacent pavillion instead. It was a win-win.

Thanks Tiffany for setting it up and thanks Nita and Al for suggesting I eat a 6-pound burrito afterward! :redface2::p

Hey! I'm late only if Al is with me, because HE makes me late, and...I seem to recall that I was at the trailhead ahead of you this morning....uh-huh! :p
Thanks for setting this ride up Tiff!

Sweet ride, I love meeting new people (Pete, you had no trouble finishing off that buritto).

I thought that was you! I took a left instead of a right on one loop at Skull, which cut off a section so we were turning back. And I've been riding this place for a couple of years, so I must have been heavily distracted by something *cough*. You should have jumped ship and come with us, I'm probably 1000 percent sure you would have had more fun, because they looked SO serious.

Yeah, great ride everyone. Fun to finally meet some of the riders who post regularly. First impressions are important. Nita made me blush within the first 30-seconds of conversation in the parking lot. My apologies to those whose tires I buzzed from following too closely. Congrats to the riders that endured with the platform pedals.
Thanks to Tiffany for coordinating the ride, and providing a tasty beverage afterward. Overall, I loved this trail, and can't wait to ride there again soon.

Thanks for the ride all it was a lot of fun. Glad I had the longest fall of the ride or best dismount while leaping off a bridge and throwing the bike away, multiple times to boot. Good to see everyone and meet new people a most excellent ride.

You're right, should have ditched those guys for you guys. It was a good workout trying to keep up and having them show me the trail a bit but I would have had more fun with the morc crew. Every time the topic of speed came up they bragged how they were going at a leasurely pace or how it was nice to take it easy for a change while I'm working my ass off to keep up.:jumpy:

Congrats to the riders that endured with the platform pedals.

Yeah the platforms just weren't enough for some of the steeper hills. For next time, rather than take hours swapping to clipless pedals I might just take one of these babies out.

You guys all rocked the trail yesterday. It was a lot of fun to ride with a few new faces and several old ones. I would give JJ a 9 for the dismount off the bridge...I don't think I would have been able to stand again after that. And kudos to Nita and Al for being the FIRST to the trail head!! See you guys out there for the next ride...

THAT is funny! You were amazing on those flats, maybe you don't need clipless pedals at all.
