View Full Version : Ride: Battle Creek - Wed 8/29 5:30pm
Knee and butt are still sore from the 24Hours of Afton, but I'm ready to start thinking about riding again. I'm interested to see what The Switchbacks feel like after 6 trips Manhandler. Weather looks like it's going to be good to us this week. (Of course what do they know 3 days ahead of time in Minnesota). Meet at the Rec Center parking lot off Winthorp as usual.

I'll be there with usual crew I hope. We rode tonight for a quick round and it was fantastic out!

I'm actually going to be in town this week. BC killed me last night after one loop. I think that means that I need to start riding more. Sounds like we might have a good group this week.

If I can shake this cold I've come down with, I'll make an appearance, but then again I might not. They don't call me Magic for nothing!

They don't call you magic, they call you no show.
Which is better then what they call me, Don't show.
Looks like the day is shaping up nicely for some time on the trails! :jumpy:

Great ride tonight guys! Think we had 13 people at times. Nice to meet some new faces and see the regulars :)
Awesome night for a ride!! Trail was great, weather was perfect and the company was stellar. We had a good size group of our own, not to mention the other groups that were out there. Lots o' people out last night.
The new trail is going to be lots of fun!! :jumpy:

Great ride last night. Although the hematoma on my hip is about the biggest damn thing I've ever seen. Decency prevents me from posting any pics... but my wife thinks I'm growing another butt cheek!

Did you get it looked at? Hope it doesnot feel that bad.
No... I went home and iced it all night and downed some ibuprofen. Swelling was way down by the morning. Now it's starting to turn all kinds of pretty colors:banana:.
Actually doesn't hurt bad at all compared to what it looks like. :) I'm still planning on riding Decorah on Sunday. But I think I'll make it a point to stay on board the bike for this ride!
Troy,
Post up your pictures when you get a chance. I want to see the shots of the groups climbing the switchbacks. I'll bet that was more bikes on the switchbacks at one time than in BC history!
Here's a few.
Didn't really get that good of ones going up the switchback. Would have been better to be at the top. The ones I did get, I had the camera set for Flourescent light, so I had to do a bit of white balance tweaking. There are some others that turned out pretty good though.

There was another group of about 6 guys that also hit the switchback climb at the same time we did. Lot's of people out last night!!
