Today while I was riding memorial, I happened to notice that a tree half way up stairway had some nice looking apples on it, so I picked one and ate it (being that I wasn't on my bike anyhow). I ate two more on my next lap, and earlier this year I ate some blackberries along the trail. My GF thinks I am crazy, but man were they delicious. Just wondering if anyone else eats random fruits, vegetables, fungi or animals the come across while riding.

Murphy has wild strawberries, black raspberries, red raspberries, blackberries, and at least one plum tree and one apple tree at various locations on/near the trail.

Personally only sampled the black raspberries, an apple, and some strawberries.

Good stuff.

Two friends and I once found a bottle of Bacardi Limon in a big area near my house. I really don't need to add details.

It's always a good idea to drink liquor found in open areas...

Ya gotta take in the trailside nutrition.

I posted about the berries in Battle Creek earlier this year. It's got black raspberries, raspberries and blackberries. In the spring one can also find Morels!!

Just had some wild plums along the gateway trail this weekend. Yum!

I think I saw a rather large area of raspberry bushes at terrace but they wasn't any raspberries yet. My wife and I feasted on raspberries while riding the trails at Lutsen last summer, best berries I have ever eaten. Maybe that is what we should do; plant a little farm within Lebanon...

Salem Hills has blueberries I think. There is some kind of berry out there because the locals had made a bunch trails to get to the berry patches.

Speaking of that did anyone notice the giant mushrooms and strange skull like fungi that appeared after all of the rain at Lebanon? It is scary. :jumpy:

Yes! We saw a bunch of softball size Giant Puffballs Sunday around the second mile into Leb. But when we went around again, someone kicked them to pieces . They can get really big:

Hmmm I wonder why you would want to kick them, I suppose the same reason you would want to steal our gnome... :incazzato:
