It's that time of year. You know you love to hate it. Please post up your favorite food this year at the Fair. I should be headed out there today with the parents from out of town. Let the gluttony begin!

Do you ever go to their restaurant on Dale and University? Sometimes on weekends they fire up the grill.

I hear all the talk about the Dairy buildings shakes. Do they even use ice cream in them? I love the Malts with hand scooped ice cream. Don't know the exact location, but they are next to the Turkey sandwich place, and the same block as the DNR stuff. I'll have to try the jerk chicken. Love the pork chops on a stick. Dino's Gyros are good. Never purchased Martha's cookies, but had one once, and agree, not worth it to me. Corn on the cob, deep fried snickers, Scotch egg on a stick. These are a few of the things I like at the Fair.

Favorite State Fair T-shirt:

"zero to horney in 2.5 beers"

I'm sure the ladies find it funny and the t-shirt wearer utterly iresistable.

IMO it should read

"zero to excusing myself from the room with a bottle of lotion after only 2.5 beers becuase I'm such a loser no sane or insane women would want anything to do with me"

just my opinion though sorry if you have this t-shirt and are proud of it

Cheese curds, Martha's cookies, mini donuts, pronto pups, very cheap 1919 rootbeer, corn on the cob, and the turkey sandwiches. I don't think many of them will fit into my diet, but I plan to splurge the one day I go.

Yes, yes, yes, sorta yes...corn dogs are better than the pronto pups IMO, yes, yes and yes. You forgot maybe the milk to go with the cookies and the huge amount of MN beer to go with the mini donuts.:beerme:

Only someone with a Packers avatar would think that Sweet Martha's Cookies aren't worth it. C'mon man....what's wrong with you... besides the obvious.

At the fair I think they chagre $5.00 for the patties. Too much $$IMO.

I assume it was them with the grill I may be wrong though. Also Big Daddys BBQ is cooking on weekends across the street. Definitely stop worthy.

In Brooklyn they sell the patties in the frozen food isle. I haven't seen any grocery stores here that do that.

Before moving here to MN I had never been to a state fair but once I went I was immediately in heaven!! I love the corn on the cob (can't eat it this year with the braces), cheese curds, deep fried snickers, sweet martha's cookies, any bratwurst (I'm a sucker for brats), & mini donuts. So who wants to go to the fair with me? :D

I'll go with ya Maura, if ya don't mind me eating corn on the cob.

Only someone with a Packers avatar would think that Sweet Martha's Cookies aren't worth it. C'mon man....what's wrong with you... besides the obvious. It must be a Paul thing, cause I see another Paul doesn't like the cookies. I bake my own cookies, and store bought cookies just don't match homemade. Maybe warm, Martha's might be okay, with milk. Interesting all the MN people like Cheese Curds. Ain't that a Packer thing?

Sweet Marthas uses shortening. This makes them taste good when their warm but not so good cold. Got to use butter for cookies but I bet you already do with your homemade.

I hate the Packers. The finest football moment ever was when Moss mooned Packer fans. Still brings a tear to my eye.
