Afton 24Hr course update

Well Larry and I rode the course and it is in great shape. It's very tacky and will firm up nice during the race. Some areas are a little soft because of maintenance work being done on the hill, but should pack during the race.

As for tents, please stay in the areas that are mowed. Some parts down in the valley are wet and those areas will not be mowed.

Hey Greg, all you need is 6 laps to get the Ricoh Point... Why 6? If I recall correctly 5 was the "magic" number last year, so 6 will one up your sister Magic... Correction, 5 laps and 12 hours in the tent was the "magic" number...

I was surprised how well the trails rode yesterday... If the rain isn't extreme today and it's dry tomorrow all should be good by race start...

Oh, we know your not kidding... You may have to go back to zero for vomit action, but you will gain a Ricoh point if the vomit occurs while on the bike...

Well as of today, the trail is holding it's own against the rain. By the time the race starts the trail will be in good shape.

For the racers, if you find any problem areas on the trail, please report them at the timing table. I will try to get to those areas as fast as I can and repair the damage.

There is one reroute that was just put in today (Magic corners). It's in the slalom section right before you get to the timing, rider change over area. It is all flagged off and the trail flows well. Just be aware of this on the first few laps. Have a safe and great race.;)

You can check in with Larry or John too see if any thing last minute needs to be taken care of. I will be down their at 5:30 or so. I have to watch the kids till my wife get's home. I'll see you down in the valley.
